Brielle's eyes didn't pull from Harry's at all as she slowly followed the host through the restaurant. Her heart was pounding as everyone and everything around her disappeared, her sole attention focused on Harry.
As she got closer to the table, she felt her mouth pull into the smallest, most knowing smile. Unable to fight it even if she tried. And as she watched Harry's expression mirror hers, warm and full of wonder, dimples poking into his cheeks beautifully, she knew this was it.
"Hi, baby."
His face broke into a smile as he stood from the table, his eyes bright with creases forming at the corners and dimples dipping into his cheeks that made him appear even more youthful. His smile was crooked, pulling up slightly more on the left, making that dimple more prone for attention.
"Hi H," she spoke warmly, following him when he leaned in to place a soft kiss to her cheek. His cologne invaded her senses first, making a chill run down her spine before his cheek brushed against hers.
Her heart was pounding, even more so than she thought it could when she first walked in and made eye contact with him. His hair tickled her nose softly before he pulled away all too soon. His hand had found its way to her elbow, cupping it softly as his eyes flicked over her face for a moment.
"You look beautiful," he spoke softly, close enough that only she could hear him. It was like his eyes couldn't focus enough on one part of her for too long, and she watched as they flicked from her own, to her mouth, to her hair, all before meeting her eyes again. Her cheeks burned under his gaze, her smile lifting her cheeks more as she admired him.
"So do you."
He smiled shyly as he spoke. "We should sit. Let's sit."
Her laugh mirrored his when he went to her side of the table to pull her chair out, thanking him softly as he made his way back to his own seat.
He exhaled deeply once he sat down. His eyes scanned her face as he watched her look down to her menu nervously. His palms were sweating and his heart felt like it was in his throat, but he was happy. He couldn't pull the smile from his lips if he tried.
"Y'alright?" he asked as he leaned his elbows on the table slightly, leaning in closer to ask the simple question with a soft tone.
She looked up at him through her lashes, one of her eyebrows raising teasingly. "What do you think?"
Her lips pulled up into a full smile as she lifted her chin knowingly, making them both chuckle softly.
"I'm nervous too," he confirmed, his eyes warm on hers.
"Good," she teased.
They were quiet for a moment, admiring each other from across the table as the candle flickered between them. As nervous as Harry was, he felt good. Being in her presence felt like every atom in his body was screaming. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and his pulse quickened the tiniest bit every time her eyes met his.
"I'm really... happy though," he admitted softly, his eyes steady on hers as he spoke.
"Me too," she agreed, her smile brightening her entire face. "And I'm starving."
