*Piper*

Jason was still in hospital and I had almost lost all hope. Days, weeks and months flew by. I tried to visit him daily in addition to rehearsing for the play, because the show must go on. Jason was still in critical condition. The poison was not completely out of his body, so in principle it could still go wrong, but I would rather not think about that.

At the moment I was under a lot of stress. It was the day before Christmas and this evening I had my play. I tried to avoid Victor, my opponent, as much as possible. He had already approached me several times, because he wanted to practise the kissing scene. Preferably in a dark alley or in the broom closet at school, but "strangely enough" I had no desire to do that.

"Are you ready, Piper?" Luca asked tensely. I had invited the boys and Lyla to come and watch tonight. Lyla couldn't come, as she could barely walk, but the boys came. Luca seemed particularly nervous for me.

"I guess so. I know my script by heart so I'll be fine." I put on my coat and took the car keys from the table. "I'll go ahead. The cast should be here before then."

"Okay, drive carefully!" Called Luca. I got in the car and drove to my school.

*Adam*

"Luca dude. Take it easy! You're shaking all over man!" I said, laughing. Luca sat on the bench and his leg started to shake. "Why are you so nervous?" He pulled a bundle of paper from the inside pocket of his jacket and threw it at me.

"What's this?" I asked as I flipped through the paper leg.

"Piper's script. I copied it."

"Why would you do that?"

"Piper doesn't talk to me much anymore. I want her back so badly and I thought it would be romantic if I surprised her on stage." I looked at Luca with wide eyes.

"Wait? You want to say this to her on stage?" He nodded.

"I should be the person kissing her awake, not some asshole."

"Then what are you still doing here? The cast should be here before then!" I repeated. Luca jumped up from the couch and pulled the script out of my hands. At top speed he ran out of the room and I heard the front door close with a bang. Ah, young love. Talking about young love. I really had to do something for Peyton. What if she finds someone else who is much better than me? I lay down on the sofa and put my hands under my head. I quickly looked at the clock and saw that I had just over an hour left. I decided to enjoy the peace and quiet and closed my eyes. Suddenly, all peace and quiet was shattered by an icy scream.

"Lyla?" I called out, worried. I sprinted quickly up the stairs to Jason and Lyla's room and knocked on the door. "Is everything alright?" Again a scream sounded.

"Adam! Call someone!" She shouted. "The baby's coming!" I immediately panicked. I jumped from one leg to the other. Uhm, yes, phone! I pulled my mobile out of my pocket and typed in the emergency number. Please, hurry up!

*Luca*

The play had already started, but none of the boys had shown up yet. I would sneak a peek at my mobile to see if anything was going on, but every time I looked, the old woman next to me would get super pissed. I decided to focus on Piper. She looked beautiful. Her long brown hair waved and moved with every move she made. The stage lights made her green eyes sparkle. Every now and then I looked at her opposite number Victor. What a jerk he was. He certainly thought he was better than the rest. The red curtains closed and the lights in the auditorium went back on. I got up and walked towards the dressing rooms.
