after another three years of integrating and modifying everything yet again up to speck i felt it was time i went home bahamut had just been completed and it's tests passed with flying colors after all i felt there was no better time though there was one thing i needed to do first
"where's alfred i need him" i said seriously
"our butler" ichigo asked curiously i nodded
"why in the world would you need alfred" hilda asked
"one reason, misato katsuragi" i said they looked confused but shrugged it off
"i'm so jealous that they get to eat your cooking, it tastes so good" zessica said
"i'll be back, probably" i said
"yes we know she has the final say it what we are, but at least tell us don't just ditch us and leave us in the dark" madoka said i nodded giving my promise as the bahamut was loaded aboard the yamato, which was yet again acting as my escort ship
i arrived in tokyo three to find it mostly unchanged all the damages of the final battle repaired i was thanking the gods above that the world still appeared to hold itself together
"where to, young master bauduin" alfred asked politely refocusing me
"ah right, this way" i said as we walked into the apartment complex where i pulled out my key i smiled at the fact the locks had not been changed and my key worked as i entered and found the place as i thought it would be, a disaster bottles literally everywhere
"you have the bottle yes" i asked
"yes of course sir, the finest bottle from the picard vineyards" alfred said
"that old man has helped me expand so much" i said to myself before yet again refocusing
"right if you would clean up this mess when you are done, return to the yamato and take the blasted guards with you i don't need them here" i said
"of course young master, shall i leave the bottle on the table" he asked before seeing there was still no table
"no because we don't have a table just give it to me" i said as he handed me the bottle and i put it above the fridge before i got to work making some food seeing that someone was smart enough to at least not allow misato to only eat those frozen dinners and drink beer all her life there was actual fresh food in the fridge which i used to make a rice bowl i made an extra just in case as well before i set everything out just as i heard the door open and smile to be met by a new face who had a gun in my face instantly
"that is unnecessary for one thing guns can't harm me for another this was my home before it was yours and lastly well i made food" i said with a sincere smile
"misato there is a man claiming he lives here" the girl shouted as misato walked in upon seeing me she dropped the pistol she was holding in complete shock
"shinji" she whispered
"yes it's me misato though i am not entirely shinji ikari anymore i story i will gladly share soon, now where is asuka" i asked before being tackled into a hug by the aforementioned redhead who was crying
"we didn't think you'd come back after the first year ended we lost hope, mari put the gun away it is unnecessary let me introduce the third child shinji ikari" misato said
"and the best EVA pilot to live" asuka said i chuckled
"now that is up for debate, but my name is not shinji ikari any longer, i am jaune bauduin current head of the bauduin family, it is a pleasure to meet you" i said politely mari laughed
"you sound like some rich noble" she said
"i mean that is not necessarily wrong please sit eat, i made food" i said asuka and misato had stars in their eyes upon hearing this
"oh that reminds me misato i have a gift for you specifically" i said as i brought down a bottle
"i have a dear friend he is in fact my grandfather figure he owns his own orchard, in france, this is one of his finest bottles i figured you may enjoy it, though you may not have heard the name i assure you there is no finer vintage" i said
"chateau picard" she said as she red the label
"jean-luc picard is the owner of the orchard and a true man of wisdom, a man by which i got guidance from many times during my disappearance" i said
we sat down and ate enjoying our food and trading stories which mostly involved me telling them of my many misadventures when misato got a call
"WHAT I THOUGHT THEY WERE ALL DEAD" misato shouted getting the attention of the three pilots
"what's going on" asuka asked
"angel" she said gravely as the four got to their feet and immediately went to NERV for a report
