Unexpected (part 7)

When Jason opened his eyes all he saw was green. His heart was beating faster than what would be considered human. And just like before, he found himself sinking deeper into the adrenaline.

His eyes narrowed and he easily flipped some guy over his shoulder, instinctively grabbing the gun in its hands.

Jason didn't waste a second, he pointed the gun in front of him, quickly tilting it to the left before pressing the trigger. The smirk that took over his face showed too many teeth but his eyes, while still tinted green, radiated with vicious satisfaction as the bullet pierced through one of the hologram's shoulders from 20 feet away.

To many, that might seem like a lucky shot. But Jason knows better. Luck was something he was never blessed with.

Not when he lived on the streets.

Not when he lived with Bruce.

And especially not now.

All Jason had was skill. Skill that took him years to learn, sharpen, and perfect. Jason doesn't miss. He can't. Not unless he wanted to.

Jason doesn't remember how long he's been fighting but he knows that it's not enough. He needs more.

More. More! MORE!

He finds himself deep in rage again. He doesn't think. He doesn't need to. He just fights, losing himself in the movements.

Every jab, punch, kick and shot he took hit his target perfectly.

Deep down, some part of him- a part that Jason swears he hatedhatedhated!- missed this. The feeling of being able to fight without worrying whether or not the criminal was alive. The feeling of not feeling like he had to hold back.

It was well- it felt freeing!

Jason feels like a bird- a robin, something in him sings- that finally got to stretch its wings and fly after being trapped in its cage for too long.

He wonders how far he can push this training box thingy. He knows it's advanced. The holographic gun he's holding feels real enough to be his own. Hell, it weighs as if it was one of his.

Jason suddenly ducked, kicking the hologram in its stomach. It disappeared, leaving a trail of golden sparkles.

He grinned again. Eyes sharp, smile absolutely feral as he turned around. Jason analyzed the scene before silently scoffing.

It doesn't matter how many went up against him. He would still win.

Jason slammed the gun on a hologram's head before throwing it like a frisbee towards a group.

He was confident enough in his abilities to know that he didn't need a weapon to defeat them.

Jason swears he doesn't even blink before he was standing in an empty box. What the-

His eyes lit up at the challenge.

"Found you." Clint could hear the smirk on her face. "I was been wondering where Hood went. I should've known that someone was hogging him."

Clint was offended. "Excuse me?" He said. "I was the one who became friends with him. In fact..." he smiled up at her in a way that he knew she hated, "You should be thanking me. If it wasn't for me, then you never would've met him."
