🔸 PROLOGUE 🔸

3rd person's Pov:

Ortiz's family was so happy, all of them spending the weekend together in their home garden. Isabella loved gardening and always made sure that her garden was perfectly maintained. Every plant was well watered and trimmed.
Once every month, her husband and kids helped her in the garden as they were doing now. It was one of the many activities they did together as a family.

12 years old Lucas was helping his dad with shears. While 9 years old Martin was watering small potted plants with his mother. 7 years old Felipe and Issac were fighting over something really silly and were bathed in soil and mud. 5 years old Yahel was playing with his 2 years old baby sister, Alicia.
Something that Yahel said, made his sister burst out laughing, which caught everyone's attention.

Alicia was the light of this family. She was the sun of their universe. A tear in her eye and her father had his gun out. Any silly demand she made and her brothers stopped at no end to fulfilling it.

When Alicia or Xia as her brothers called her, was about to take birth, there were a few complications. Though both Isabella and Xia were safe and breathing, Isabella got very weak, and her body was not the same as before. Though she forgot everything when she saw her babies smile now she has to restrict herself from doing simple activities like camping or trekking with her children.
She was easily tired now but her family never let her feel low, rather her little boys try minimizing all her stress.

There was an annual event held at the Kids' school in which each of them had participated. As Isabella was not feeling her best, she stayed at home with Alicia while reluctantly Nicolas and the 5 boys left for school.

Isabella was feeling drowsy so she asked the babysitter to look after Xia for a while as she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer. While Xia was playing with her favorite stuffed elephant, she felt something prick her neck. She tightly clutched her toy as black Stars clouded her vision.

When Nicolas returned with the kids, he didn't like the silence enveloping his house. He saw his wife sleeping on the couch, though she looked paler, her relaxed breathing was enough to relax him.
As he was about to go upstairs to meet his daughter who is probably sleeping in her cot,
He felt small hands tugging his pants. " Papa, we forgot the lion stuffie in the car. I want to give it to mi Hermana pequeña." Yahel said.
(My little sister).
"Mi Hijo, you stay here and I'll get it for you."
(My boy)

As Nicolas went back to the car, guards greeted him. The Head guard approached him and said " Sir Mrs. Ortiz had been gone out for around two hours now. She has left in her white Porsche, and never mentioned when she will be back."

"Wh-what"
It won't be exaggerating to say that this was likely the first time the great mafia boss Nicolas Ortiz stuttered.

Without another word, he rushed inside the house. Again glancing towards his wife to make sure it was no illusion, he sprinted to his daughter's room. Finding it empty, he ordered all his sons and guards to explicitly check the house to find his daughter or any clue of her whereabouts.

A few months later another person said goodbye to the Ortiz family. After the abduction of Alicia, everyone was broken but at least they were together. They lost their appetite but this person at least made them sit together at the dining table.

Isabella tried her best to fight her depression, to fight her deteriorating health, but her body can't bear this shock.

She died.

And now the Ortiz were changed. They were no longer the same smiling, loving family they were once. There was no monthly gardening or weekly movie nights.

The silence that once bothered Nicolas was now a permanent resident in the Ortiz house.
