Both the brother and sister were at peace today. Alicia was content that at least one of her brothers loved her. The moment when Alicia hugged him, Lucas felt like finally he got his little mariposa back. (Butterfly)

Alicia's Pov

I was so tired that as soon as my head landed on the pillow, I dozed off. I only woke up when Felipe came to call me for lunch but I told him that I wanted to sleep more and that since I already ate on my shopping trip, I was allowed to skip lunch this one time.

It was a bit inconvenient to always look for a pen and paper so you could at least reply to someone. But words were my enemy, they stayed buckled up in my stomach. There were times when I tried to speak when I was all alone. But like the worlds weren't willing to leave my throat.

My quietness was my stepparents' gift to me. I still shiver when I remember that incident. I still have nightmares every day. I am still scared of storms to this day.

My feet are hurting very badly I don't even have the strength to walk to the medicines. So I do one thing that I am sure won't hurt me. I dozed off. Again.

This time I woke up when Felipe came to get me for dinner. Can't believe I slept through the entire day. This is the most I have slept in one go, as sir never allowed it.

I know there was no way that I could escape dinner as well so I wrote to Felipe that I will get down there in ten minutes after I freshen up. He agreed and left.

I noticed that all the stuff we bought today has arrived and was neatly arranged in my walk-in closet. I was still ashamed of how much Lucas had spent on me.

Though I didn't have much time to overthink., so I quickly swallowed two more tablets and got changed into black sweatpants paired with a white top. It was super comfortable and fits just perfectly.

Soon I was seated at the dining table, food was served and everybody started eating. Somehow I was hungry because of all the calories I burned today while sleeping and I finished half of the food on my plate.

Everyone was seated in the living room after the dinner was done.

"Lucas I have some work, I'll be in my office," Martin said to Lucas

"Even we have a party to attend, right Felipe, so we better leave," Isaac said and was about to leave with Felipe when Lucas said
" ten minutes and everyone is free to get back to their stuff."

Isaac for two you will be responsible for our sister. Though it was Martin's turn, he has some business to take care of, so it's you now. Make sure she is safe, happy, and comfortable. Am I clear?"

" yes, Lucas," Isaac responded with an unhappy frown. While Martin was victoriously smirking.

Seeing his wide smirk, Issac muttered 'lucky bastard' and something like 'way to spoil the mood. He mumbled under his breath but since the room was silent, everyone heard him.

Both of their reactions hurt me. They made me realize what a bother I am to all of them.
"Now can we go to the damn party, at least before the sun rises ?" Isaac said to Lucas.

"Watch your tone and words Isaac before I do something that both of us will regret later." Lucas sternly warned Isaac. Even though I wasn't on the receiving side of his anger, it was still scary.

One by one everyone left the room only Lucas and me remaining.

"Alicia I have something for you, so I'll see you in your room."

Saying this even Lucas went away and I slowly limped back to my room.

I was sitting on my bed when Lucas entered my room. He was holding two shopping bags, one pretty much bigger than the other one.

He sat on the bed beside me.
"Alicia these are for you," he said as he emptied the bigger bag. I was shocked to see the iPhone, MacBook, iPad, and AirPods. I was enthralled to see these many things that I couldn't even afford to dream of.

" Lucas you will spoil me I can't accept these, I don't even know how to use them."

"Alicia let us spoil you, we have a lot of catching up to do. And about how to use these, Felipe is crazy about phones and computers. He would be more than happy to teach you." He said and wiped my tears. I never realized when I started crying.

I can't thank you enough Lucas I wrote again.

"you don't need to. Now his is more of a responsibility than a gift." He said while taking out a small box from the other bag.

He opened it and showed me a beautiful chain. The pendant was of a diamond-studded sword with a bull head on top. At the end of the sword, there was a won't teardrop dangling, it looked like some dripping blood.
The piece was a little scary and violent, but it was beautiful in its way. I wasn't able to look away or even blink for a few minutes.

"Alicia you are not allowed to take it off ever. It is not a request but more of an order. Wearing it, everyone will know that you are an Ortiz. It symbolizes that you are invincible. Remember that."

I promise Lucas to wear it always. Do you and others also have a similar one?

"Not a necklace but we do have these rings that we always wear," Lucas said and showed me his ring which had a similar gold bull but with no Dagger.

"Now go to sleep princesa."

He left the room and I went to sleep.

I was woken by the annoyingly loud sound of a horn blaring right beside my ear.

"Raise and shine, princess," Isaac said and left the room with his stupid horn.

No, he didn't say it lovingly. The first half of the sentence was full of sarcasm and mockery. Whereas the other half, he spat like venom.

I don't why both Isaac and Martin treat me like some dust on their expensive clothes. I don't recall doing anything bad to them, I mean this is the first time I remember meeting them.

Anyways I quickly did my morning routine and now was dressed in a multicolor baggy top with loose-fitted jeans.

I have no idea what is in store for today. I went into the dining room for breakfast. Lucas greeted me with a nod, Felipe was busy typing on his phone, is sac ignored me while Yahel was almost sleeping with his head on the table. Martin was absent.

After breakfast, everyone got busy with their stuff, so I went back to my room. I was bored out of my mind after sitting idle for almost an hour.

Suddenly my door was slammed open. I was so startled that I jumped to my feet. Isaac entered the room and said,

"You are unfortunately my responsibility for two days. do whatever you want but don't dare bother me. Apart from you, me, and some maids, everyone is out. Roam wherever you want just stay 10 feet away from me. And if you tried to step a foot outside the house, I'll drag you and lock you in this room. I am not stupid and gullible like my brothers to overlook your attention seeking ways and drama.
Understood?"

I nodded and somehow managed to stop my eyes from pouring down.

As soon as he left, I hid my face in the pillow and cried myself to sleep.

Only one question swimming in my mind,

'What's my fault?'
