"Thank you for doing this" Sirius says when Remus jumps into the car, he gives Sirius a fake smile and turns to the back seat where Elia was.

"I'm not doing this for you" He mutters to Sirius, making sure Elia didn't hear.

Sirius nods his head awkwardly and starts driving as Remus gets Elia excited for the Christmas family stayover, to Elias demand of course her papa had to join.

"What did you wish from Father Christmas this Elia?" Remus asks happily.

Elia giggles. "I can't say!"

Remus smiles and turns back round to face the front of the car watching them drive past other cars and snow.

Sirius checks his mirror and Elia had her headphones on with her Ipad. "I just want her to be happy"

Remus nods slowly and sighs. "Me too, I'm sorry we ended like this"

Sirius keeps his eyes firmly on the road, if he looked at Remus he would probably break down. This was their first of many divorced Christmases to come.

"Me too, but there's nothing we can do now but fake a smile for Elia"

Remus nods and turns the radio on, if not there would be awkward silence for the rest of the hour trip.

The evening had gone by fairly smoothly, Elia was happy so they were too. "Any last wishes for Father Christmas? Your letter might just get sent in time before tomorrow morning"

Elia grins at Sirius and looks to Remus on the other side of the bed. "I did make another letter, but you have to promise not to look!"

Remus smiles. "Okay hand it over, it'll be sent straight to Father Christmas! No looking"

She giggles and reaches into her kangaroo teddys pouch and pulls out a letter folded up. "No peeking!"

Sirius takes the letter and puts it in his pocket safely. "Good night then, we'll see if it reaches in time for tomorrow"

"Good night!"

Remus laughs and kisses her on the forehead and Sirius does the same. Squeezing her rosy cheeks gently before they left the room turning the lights off.

When they leave Remus and Sirius were left in the hallway alone and Sirius pulls out the letter. "If it's lego I'm not driving out to the shops to get it"

Remus laughs and nods towards the letter to open it. Sirius opens it slowly, reading it to himself.

Dear Father Christmas

The last thing I want for Christmas is for my papa and daddy to be happy again so we can be a family again.
I've been a good girl!

Sirius' eyes dart up to Remus to see if he had read it. "Well, what did it say?"

Sirius shakes his head putting the letter in his pocket. "Don't worry, it's something I've already gotten her as a surprise"

Remus shakes his head in disbelief. "Bullshit, I wanna see!"
