"OH MY GOD- Pablo this is amazing!" Arabella exclaimed as she opened the rooftop access door to see the Spanish player sitting under string lights with flowers, a blanket, and food. "I wanted to do something special for your birthday," he said with a smile, cheeks turning red, "here- sit, it's almost midnight!" Arabella walked over to him and sat down, unsure of how close she should be. "Pablo you really didn't have to do this," she started, but was cut off by him wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer- their bodies now pressed against each other. "Shhh," he said, "just enjoy it- look at the stars!" And so she did, but not before staring at the wide smile on his face, noticing how a curl escaped his mop of brown hair to dangle in front of his eye. Without thinking, Arabella lifted her hand up and brushed it back for him, before quickly turning the other way to hide her blush. Pablo noticed and gently grasped her chin, turning her face back towards him. They stayed that way, staring into each others eyes, for what felt like ages. Deciding to finally "man up", (Pedri had told him to) Gavi leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Arabella let out a small gasp, pausing for a second in disbelief, before returning the kiss. Both felt like butterflies were exploding in their chests and neither could stop the smile that donned their faces once they pulled away. "Come here," Gavi whispered, pulling her closer. And that's how the two spent the rest of the night- laying together on the roof, Arabella's head on Pablo's chest. A sense of peace finally finding its way into the two athletes hectic lives.
