My parents fetched me at Ma'am Vivienʼs office. Dumating kami sa bahay around 7. Pagkapasok, nagulat ako kasi may isang nurse at doctor ang naghihintay samin sa bahay. They stood there in doctor's attire, an elderly man with silver hair and a woman around my mother's age - patiently waiting.

"Were here, doc. Please, help her immediately. Her heart hasn't been stable lately," my father's concerned voice broke the silence.

"You've brought her back at the right time," sagot ng doctor.

Hindi ko maintindihan ang pangamba ni Dad. He's holding a brief case at binigay niya ito sa doctor na agad namang kinuha. I understood that the doctor was going to examine me.

Led by my parents, I entered my room, the doctor and a nurse following closely. The doctor carried a case, the contents of which were a mystery to me.

"Have her lie down," the doctor instructed, donning surgical gloves. Bahagya akong natakot nang humiga ako.

Nervousness took over as I was left in that moment. My parents gripped my hand tightly, comforting me. Uncertain of what to do, I whispered weakly, "D-dad..."

"Don't worry, sweetie," Dad reassured, his touch soothing against my cheek. "They're going to help you feel better."

"Mr. and Mrs. Mercedez, you may step outside. We'll take care of her now," the doctor stated, holding an injection. Both had masks on by this point.

With a trembling voice, I spoke, "I'm... s-scar..." The anesthesia began to take effect, and I drifted into sleep, my last word left unfinished.

Upon waking, I felt a pleasant sensation coursing through me. My body felt strong, my heart beating steadily. A smile lit up my face as I rose from the bed, my energy fully restored.

"Our baby!" They said then they both embrace me.

"Kamusta ang baby namin?" masayang tanong ni mom sakin.

"Okay na po ako!" nakangiti kong tugon.

Dad kissed my forehead, "Thank God," he said.

"Starting today, no more coffee for you. It's not good for your heart," Mom declared. "Inomin mo ʼtong tinimpla kong gatas."

"Salamat mom." Sagot ko at umupo na. Napansin kong may pasa ang mukha ni Dad. Hindi ko nalang tinanong kung ano ang nangyari sa mukha niya.

Without questioning the bruise on his face, I joined them for breakfast, the meal is already prepared.

With smiles on their faces, my parents left the house, reassured by my regained health. However, a lingering thought remained.

The briefcase puzzled me.

Why weren't we at the hospital?

Although sinabi ni Dad sakin na dadalhin niya ako sa hospital but we ended up at home. Lastly, the bruise on my his face raised questions on me.

Attempting to push aside my concerns, I headed to my room on the second floor of our house. There, I picked up my phone and checked the messages from Charlotte, Raya, and Sav, who had messaged me through our group chat.
