I was told
That when I was older
I would find a man who:
Treated me like a princess
Who made me feel happy
And loved and special
And I agreed
I've searched and searched
For my perfect man
But then I thought
Couldn't anybody do those things
Whether it be a man, a woman
Or someone who is neither
And now I'm told
To pick a side
Boys or girls
(According to them, non-binary people aren't a thing)
But why can't I be on both sides
Boys and girls
Everybody
Whether they have a gender or not
That's who I am
And nobody will change that
