The word "bitter" conjures up images of a sharp and acrid taste that can leave one's tongue feeling withered and dry. It is a flavor that is often associated with grief, sorrow, and disappointment, like the taste of ashes in one's mouth following a great loss or profound pain. The feeling of bitterness can leave one's feeling deep and festering bitterness that burns and wounds the heart like a fiery blade.

"That's how I feel, why...?"

He seems so sweet with the rest, we have barely talked but he seems cold and dry. The way he looks at me feels like a sharp knife through my heart. I can't forget that classwork we did...

"The answer is incorrect, its actually 3.4" - Ava indicated

Aiden changed the answer without even caring to look at her.

"Aiden, Ava, your score is 9"- the teacher announced

"Huh, why?" -Asked Aiden, confused by the result

"The last answer was 18.4, and you guys wrote 3.4, which was not even close. But at least the other exercises were perfectly done, the procedure was clean and organized."

Aiden made the rest of the exercises... But hey, I got the ".4" correct...

That was embarassing.. Anyways, think Ava, how do I get closer to Aiden? If I just talked to him could he said yes?

Ava took a look to her surrondings and saw Aiden at the lockers, so she confidently walked to him.

"Hey, Aiden. So I've been wanting to well uh, be your friend and I was wondering if that's possible!"

Aiden looked at her with an annoyed expression as he ignored her, Ava stood there like a dumbass, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed.

"What's wrong with him? That's rude...! Oh, I should check his locker number... Wait what locker was he at?"

-The day passed by and the school day ended by multiples attempts of Ava trying to talk to Aiden had failed, Aiden always ignoring her. Could it be that he held a grudge against Ava for giving him the incorrect answer? Maybe he finds Ava annyoing.

When school ended, Ava thought of going to the store, maybe buying herself some things would help her forget the fiasco of today.

I wanna go to the store, ohh I could by some hair clips, hair bands and maybe some braceletes!

"Yo, Ava!"

Ava turned around to find his brother Micheal, he wasn't alone though, he had some friends with him.

Ava raised her eyebrows in surprise

"Hey, Mike."

"You didn't wait for me back at school, you should have told me you wanted to go to the store!"

Ava didnt even take a step in the store, so she turned back, she didn't want to talk to her brother, specially not with his friends around him, she found him annoying. He always acts like a great big brother around his friends but he's a walking definition of a cry baby.

"This would look good..."

Ava looked at her self in a mirror in the store, she was trying on an star hairclip. Her brother (and friends) were waiting outside of the store for her.

"I'll buy it, tomorrow, it would be great to wear it at school, now I have to go with my brother..."

"Let's go" -Said Micheal to his friends and to Ava, seems like his friends were coming over to their house.

They arrived home, Ava noticed that out of Micheal's friends, Aiden was one of them, suddenly Ava got nervous.

"Huh? what's this weird feeling? I just saw Aiden and I seem to be shaky, and insecure."

Aiden took a desinterested look at Ava, which caused her to gasp, as she got a little red

"That's your sister over there?" asked Aidan

Micheal chuckled

"Yeah, how could you not know? And Ava, what is wrong with you, are you sick? You look red, do you have a fever?"

"Yeah, Ava, whats wrong?" -Remarked Aiden with a mischevious smile

What?! What's wrong with me! And he obvioulsy said if I had a fever to call me out!

Ava rolled her eyes and went to her bedroom and slammed the door, their parents weren't home, so she couldn't get scold like she usually got when she had an "actitude" like that one.

Ava couldn't believe how much she was blushing at Aiden's look. She didn't understand why she felt so drawn to him. All she knew was that she had to get away before he noticed more.

Ava tossed and turned in her bed, her mind racing with thoughts of Aiden. She knew she shouldn't let herself get so worked up over him, but she couldn't help it. The frustration and confusion she felt were overwhelming, and she felt like she was losing her grip on reality. She closed her eyes and tried to calm her breathing, but the image of Aiden kept invading her thoughts, making it impossible to sleep, even though after some hours the sleep overcame her.
