Everything I've ever been told has been a lie.

But these three facts, I've quickly learned to be true.

One... heroes aren't always heroic and honorable, and villains aren't always villainous and vile.

Two... monsters do exist, and they look just like you and me. Normal. Sometimes even charming and beautiful. They're not always ugly, and they don't have scary horns or claws, or creepy eyes and scales—like most would picture when hearing the word monster.

They live among us, walking around in broad daylight, working at hospitals, courthouses, police and fire stations; schools; theme parks; and even the White House. They gain people's trust, calling themselves good, when really, they're evil—their only motive being to devour and destroy the good and the innocent, leaving nothing left behind but blood and bones.

And three... God does have a sense of humor.
Because when you're running for your life, chances are, your pleading prayer will be answered—the miracle that you desperately need, coming in the form of your masked stalker with an appetite for vengeance.
