VICTORIA'S POV.

"Hey guys, I think this quest is gonna be harder then we thought." Percy announced, I gave him a really? look. "I've been thinking, I didn't steal the bolt, you guys didn't steal the bolt, We're pretty sure Hades has the bolt but he couldn't have stolen it himself. I mean, we don't even know who actually stole the thing!" Percy continued rambling on as the group walked.

"Or why! Or how deep this goes." He exhaled, finally shutting up. "Percy, I hate to break it to you but you're the last person to realize this." I sighed, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Okay, so, maybe when we started my head wasn't fully in this but since the river, it all feels different somehow. He saved me. My dad, I guess I just really never thought that's something he'd do for me. So maybe I gotta take things more seriousl-" Percy paused, turning around, the rest of us copying his actions.

"Car." Grover called out. "That's not a car it's a bike." Annabeth responded. "Just let it pass, come on." I said, ushering them to hide behind the bumper block.

"I'm saying, we're not just trying to retrieve the thing. I think we might need to be detectives here too." Percy added, sitting down.

"Yea." Annabeth nodded, looking down in her lap. What's wrong with her? My brows furrowed, scooting towards Annabeth with a puzzled look on my face. "Why are you being weird with me again? I thought we weren't doing that anymore." Percy questioned, clearly also puzzled.

"I'm not being weird." Annabeth denied. "Yes you are." Percy insisted. "You've been weird since we left the Arch," Awkward silence filled the air.

"Ohh.. I get it. It doesn't have to be a thing- y'know? That you hugged me." Percy grinned, looking at Annabeth. I let out a heavy sigh. "Oh my god. Percy, shut up." I lightly chuckled in annoyance.

"I mean, we're like friends now. That seems like a thing friends do. Atleast.. I think they do?" Percy shrugged. "I saw the Fates. Back at the Arch i saw the three fates and I saw Atropos cut a piece of thread."  Annabeth admitted.

"And that's..bad? Or.." Percy asked, looking at me for help. "Fates weave the life strain of every living thing. When you see a string cut.. it means.. one of us is going to die." I responded, feeling a heavy pit in my stomach for some reason.
