✎ ·˚ ༘ ─── CHARLIE CARPENTER had been obsessed with space, the stars, and everything more since she was six years old and her mother bought her a book about the planets. Ever since then, she'd been obsessed with it, declaring that she wanted to be an astronaut and travel space and time. She'd grown up with a space theme room that she still had to this day and her favorite movie of all time had been and forever will be 2001: A Space Odyssey. Charlie Carpenter loved space and dreamed about it often, but she also shared that dream, or so she thought, with Marcus Baker.
Charlie and Marcus had always been close. Going to the same school since the age of four and Marcus's twin sister Maxine had always tried to steal the girl away from her brother. As most four year old said, he had 'cooties' and Maxine or Max couldn't and wouldn't let Charlie catch cooties from her brother who she believed passed on the disease when she would sleep at night.
But Charlie didn't give a damn about cooties, she liked that Marcus would sit with her as she read space books to him and pointed at all the planets, but she would go on and on about Saturn. She loved it, she loved how it looked, and she loved that it was the only planet with a ring. To her, that meant it was well loved, that some cherished it more than the other planets and she would too.
