Little stick man, tinder
Kindling mawkish morals,
Quarrels for fools and red
Dread for the temeritous.
In-your-box man, safe
Waif, awaiting ignition,
Conditions that are right,
Bright, ready to alight.
Sedentary dynamite, canned
Man, potential underrated,
Understated credentials, solid
Stolid stranger man.
Matchstick man, wooden,
Shouldn't spark, dare,
Care—leave you in your box,
Locks locking locks.
Unlit-forget-he's-there man,
Wan complexions,
Affections affectation,
Creation insufficient, man.
