Chapter 4: The Talk

I'm here at Mr. Zerafi's office. Him and I are good friends since we're tracking the same industry and we often see each other during gatherings.

Luckily, he could spare some of his time to have a talk with me. This isn't just a minor problem, it's more than a major as well. My God, Harriet. Tignan mo ang ginawa ng anak mo.

"Nice to see you here, Mr. Ludovico." From my behind, I heard Mr. Zerafi's voice.

Sa tingin ko ay kagagaling lamang nito sa isang meeting. I instantly stood up from my seat and shook hands with him, "Nice to see you as well, Mr. Zerafi."

His smile started to slowly fade. I think he noticed the obnoxious and tensed expression upon my face.

Well to be fair, I'm still shocked by the sudden news. Jusko, kung hindi ko pa binilhan ng PT si Adoracion ay hindi ko pa malalamang buntis pala siya. Susmaryosep.

Since Mr. Zerafi and I are both fathers, I think he'll understand and take accountability. I'm just worried that Georgia might not like this news, knowing the mere fact that she doesn't really like my daughter.

Umupo siya sa kaniyang swivel chair, "Any problems we have, Mr. Ludovico?"

He signaled me to take a seat. Umupo ako sa harap niya at naaninag ko ang kaniyang concerned na ekspresyon.

"In fact we do, Mr. Zerafi..." I pursed my lips and prepared myself.

How do I even explain this to him? This is a very weird and uncomfortable topic to talk about. Should I elaborate this the easy way or the hard way?

"Your daughter got my daughter pregnant."

I saw how he blinked multiple times from my sudden statement. Hindi siya nakagalaw o naka-imik manlang. Yet, I saw how his eyes slowly shine.

"D-did I hear that right, Mr. Ludovico?" He slightly stuttered.

I sighed and nodded. I know it's hard to believe on his side. Imagine having a beautiful daughter then you find out that she got somebody pregnant.

"Jusko po... Teka lang ha..." Napasapo siya sa kaniyang sentido na para bang pinoproseso pa ang sinabi ko.

We were silent for about 5 minutes. I don't know if he's happy or disappointed by the news I just announced.

To me, all is well. I'm happy for her but still shocked. Heavenne is already at the right age and I've been waiting for her to start her own family. But I didn't expect her to be pregnant before getting married.

Actually, I was losing hope over her starting a family of her own. She doesn't like men, so there is technically no other way she would get pregnant.

However, she did. By a woman.

"Seryoso ito, Harvey? Hindi prank?" Hanggang ngayon ay mukhang hindi pa rin siya naniniwala.

Bahagya akong napangiti dahil doon. I took Heavenne's pregnancy test and laid it flat on the desk. Tinignan niya iyon at nanlaki ang mga mata. Napatakip din siya sa kaniyang bibig.

"Susko po...."

He smiled slowly and his eyes swelled with tears. I could tell that he's happy and that made me feel relieved.
