Chapter 29: Who's the fairest of them all?

Maaga akong nagising kinabukasan. Nothing is special this day ngunit maaga ring gumising sina Andi at Therese. They were sitting across me at kasalukuyan akong tinatanong tungkol sa date namin ni Khael kagabi.

"Spill it Amber, what happened? Naka-homerun na ba si Khael?", excited na tanong ni Therese. She was very lively when it comes to this topic.

Binato ko siya ng unan. What does homerun means? Hindi ba sa baseball iyan? I realized it has another meaning dahil sa kakaibang ngiti nito.

"Shut up Res, nothing happened. We just played in the arcade, kumanta siya kahit napakawala sa tono niya and then we went to restaurant and have dinner. There's a poisoning happened in that restaurant and then he solved the case and that's it, hinatid na niya ako dito", wika ko and I saw their faces become disappointed. What now? That's really what happened.

Nagkatinginan ang dalawa and they frowned. "That's worst than ditching his date."

It was really a fine date. I was amazed by his intelligent deduction with that poisoning case. He solved the case in a short time kaya nakakabilib ito.

"Haay nako, simula talaga nang magkaroon ka ng existence dito sa Bridle ay palagi ka na lang napapasubo sa mga kaso and things like those", Therese said. Oh, really? Hindi naman siguro. I just don't want to get involved before kahit pa kating-kati na ako dati na sabihin kung sino man ang may mga kasalanan.

Getting involved is not really that bad. I remember a quote says 'Speak the truth even if your voice shakes' kaya hindi na masama kung sabihin ko man ang katotohanan behind those cases.

"Hindi naman siguro", wika ko at tumayo. "I'll be using the bathroom first", wika ko at nagtungo sa CR.

When I went out ay nag-uusap pa rin sina Andi at Therese. They were discussing about the upcoming school festival, which will be next week.

Wait.

What?!

Next week? Ang bilis naman yata. Bridle's School festival are usually week long kaya magsisimula iyon sa Lunes at matatapos ng Byernes.

"It's already announced the few weeks at malamang hindi ka na naman nagbabasa sa mga announcement doon sa bulletin board", wika ni Andi.

Nang pumasok na ako ay tungkol rin sa school festival ang pinag-uusapan ng mga kaklase ko. Nakikipag-usap din sa kanila si Gray. It seems like he's not a sulking machine this time, unlike kahapon.

Hinatid niya ako doon and then he left immediately nang hindi pa rin ako kinausap. Uh, he smiled at me? Himala!

"Amber, look at the events on the festival", wika niya at iwinagayway ang hawak na papel. After I put down my bag ay lumapit ako sa kanila at tiningnan iyon.

There were lots of events; literary, musical, sports, club presentations na gaganapin sa cultural night and a masquerade party.

Masquerade party?! Sounds terrifying.

"I'm so excited for this."

Yeah, I guess he's a soccer kid by heart.
