Chapter 14

Happy 4th of July! Sorry that this chapter's a little bit shorter than usual, I had to go to a barbecue.

Nate's POV

I shifted in mid run as I looked down to see 5 of my warriors fighting against 30 rogues. It looked like more wolves had arrived at the border to help with the 3 that had came. I ripped one apart and growled loudly as another tried to pounce on me. I could kill 50 of these wolves in my human form without even breaking a sweat. But, I wanted to have some fun. I had to blow off some steam after what had happened with Dylan, and the best way to do that was to kill some trespassers.

My warriors and I took them all down in less than 5 minutes, and we saved 3 of them so we could question them later. I shifted back and pulled a pair of shorts on, then I grabbed the wolves and slung them across my neck to bring them to the cells. After the escape of Dylan, I had ordered our technicians to tighten up the prison. They had laced each cell with twice the amount of wolf bane and had added more secret traps everywhere. 

I pressed my finger against the print scanner in front of the cells, and put my eye near the scanner. The doors opened slowly and I threw the rogues in different cells. All our cells were made of one way glass, so that we could see the prisoners. They would be questioned later, and definitely would look worse than they do now, after going through the interrogation process.

"Call me tomorrow at some time in the afternoon," I told to one of my warriors. "I'll figure out why people keep on trying to break in."

"Yes alpha," he bowed his head and walked to a room on the side and pressed buttons to put certain traps on the cells.

I left the room as he slowly turned the wolf bane on in each of the cells and ran back to the pack house. The sun was peaking out and I was disappointed that day had come so fast. I wanted to cuddle with Sera in our bed before she woke up and yelled at me for killing Dylan. 

When I opened the bedroom door, I quickly went over to the bed and tucked myself next to Sera. She was turning around in her sleep, mumbling about something, but once I wrapped my arms around her, she sighed contently and leaned back against my bare chest.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep quickly, listening to her soft breaths and inhaling her sweet scent.

Sera's POV

I cuddled closer to the warmth behind me and sighed happily as I felt kisses going up my neck and moving to nip my ear. 

"Good morning darling," I heard Nate say. In a few seconds, I realized that he was the one who was kissing me, so I pushed away from him and started to roll off the bed. Nate caught me before I could fall and sat me up in the bed. I stood up on my knees and walked off of the bed, going towards the bathroom. I didn't look back at Nate as he watched as I went to the bathroom and clicked the door open.

Once I shut myself in there, I sat down on the toilet seat and put my head in my hands. It was killing me to be away from Nate, but I didn't think I could be with him if he kept on taking such drastic measures to everything I did or tried to do. I wouldn't talk to him unless he found a way to apologize to me.

But, while waiting for that, I would get revenge on him.
