Chapter  One

Caleb

I have to see her.

Right now.

I have to see her beautiful eyes, and the way her neck slopes into her shoulder.

The way her cheeks turn rosy when she was grinning.

The way her eyes lit up with determination when she was challenged.

The way she was herself.

I am addicted.

Yes, it may have been only a week since I've last seen her.

Yes, I may have been thinking about her every day since the last time I saw her.

God, I need a coffee.

This girl was already keeping me up at night.

I shoved my hands deeply into the pockets of my leather jacket, strolling through the greenery.

Maybe I can go to that one café everyone was talking about.

What was it...? Cinderella Café?

No, no...

Fuck it, I'm going to McDonalds.

My eyes scan around the area, the arrays of arranged flowers stunning my vision.

A sudden 'ding' resonates in the air, with a familiar buzzing in the back of my pocket.

"Who the hell is it this time?" I mumbled under my breath, the brightness of my phone gleaming brightly into my eyes.

Dumbass Derek: Bro, I think I found your girl working at this one café.

Who? I have a girl now? I swear if you are trying to set me up with Elizabeth again...

I end up responding almost immediately out of pure curiosity

Dumbass Derek: Someone's interest is perked now ;)

Dumbass Derek: I was talking about that girl you always stare at, btw. Lynn, I think her name is.

My eyes widen as I read the message once again just to make sure my eyes weren't fooling me.

Where are you? I want to hang out. Right now.

I almost face-palmed from how needy I sound.

Dumbass Derek: Only if you change my contact name on your phone

I rolled my eyes at his antics.

Fine.

Dumbass Derek: Okay, so turn right at Mariam street, and then head straight until you see a place named "Charming Café."  I'm there.

So that's what its called...

I glance up from my phone, to see Mariam street was upcoming.

I increase my speed to a half jog, a sudden excitement booming at my insides.

I get to see her.

A broad smile extended  across my face at the sudden revolution, my heart tumbling into flurries of little butterflies beating their dainty wings at my soul.

God, I'm getting so cheesy.

I make an abrupt turn, my speed turning into a full on jog.

She was so close, I swear she was going to fade away and I can't lose her this time. Not this time. Not ever.

I need her.

My feet pound against the cement, as I finally spot 'Charming Café'

A vast grin curved onto my lips, as I suddenly halt.

It would look way too weird if I went in there breathless and all ruffled.

They would probably think I had morning sex or something.

She would probably think I had morning sex.

I fix my floppy black hair, running a hand through it, straightening my clothes.

I catch my breath, before stuffing my hands into my pockets, forcing a carefree expression onto my face.

She wouldn't like what I wore, would she?

Its too late to go back and change.

Would it be too awkward if I came in with a suit and tie on?

Most likely.

I'll just stick with my jeans.

She probably thought I was some kind of man whore or something.

A jerk? Yes.

An asshole? Very much so.

Brooding, moody teenager? Hell yeah.

Man whore? Ha. No. If only you knew...

Shit.

I sound like a pussy.

"Dammit." I muttered, running another hand through my head out of pure nervousness.

Another hum retreated out of my back pocket.

Dumbass Derek: Are you going to stand out there like a pansy, or are you going to grow a pair and get in?

I snorted at my friends stupidity, finally popping open the door, thrusting a hand into my pocket.

I walk in there casually, glancing around coolly.

I looked cool, until...

My foot caught onto the tile floors, my arms flailing in the air as I try to regain balance, my hands slapping onto the ground.

Fuck everything.

Fuck life.

Fuck me.

I glance up to see everyone staring at me.

Including Lydia.

Shit, how do I play this off.

I bend my elbows, my nose touching the ground.

Yes, I was doing push-ups.

I kept on doing so until I got to ten.

I hop up, doing a small bow.

"Morning routine, guys." I let out a laugh, my nervousness an undertone.

Loud claps boom through the room, as I stare in awe of the person who started it.

"Great cover-up, man." Lydia laughed, giving me a thumbs up.

My heart rate picked up, my eyes scanning her dazzling face, a brilliant beam agleam on her face.

I fumbled for words, astonished by how beautiful a person was capable of being.

"You're welcome."

I nearly banged my head into a wall for being so stupid. Why the hell was I saying I was welcome?

Lydia cocked an eyebrow, "I think you mean thank you, love." she mumbled, a chuckle escaping her precious cherry red lips.
