Your POV:

We had just moved into our new town, it was the summer time, so that was good, I had moved into my new house with my dad, my stepmom, and my step brother, Scotty Smalls

My dad was literally in love with baseball, so was I, he had taught me all about it and he also taught me about the greatest baseball player to ever live, Babe Ruth

Some people say that a girl shouldn't play baseball, or any sport, but this summer, all of that was going to change

"Hey Scott, Uhh you wanna go ride bikes around the neighborhood?" I asked my step brother in his room reading a comic

"Sure" He said

I grabbed my LA Dodgers hat then We went downstairs and went outside grabbed our bikes and rode off

"So Scotty, ya like baseball?" I asked

"Not really, I'm more into inventions and gadgets and things" he said

"Well, How 'bout I teach ya?" I asked

"Really?" He asked

"Yeah, how hard can it be?" I asked

We then heard boys yelling down the road and I peddled faster getting closer to the sound, then we found a group of boys playing baseball, just eight boys one one field, and I had to admit, they were good, then I heard a crack, the boy up to bat hit the ball

"That's gotta be a home run!" I Said

"What do you mean?" Scott asked

I didn't pay attention to Scotty, just the game going on, and the boy running around the bases, he had jet black hair and tan skin, he was flawless, then I was snapped back into reality, because I had gotten an idea, if Scotty got onto the team, maybe I could too

"Alright Scotty, let's go home" I Said

"Why?" He asked

"I'm gonna teach you to play baseball" I said

When we got home I told Scotty to stay in the backyard as I went to my room and got a ball and two mitts, then I went back outside and handed Scott a mitt and the ball and I started to back up

"Ok Scott, throw it to me"

He hesitated and then placed his feet and threw the ball, but it landed two feet in front of him

"Well, it's a start" I Said

"I'm not cut out for baseball /Y/N/" Scott Said
"I'm just gonna go inside"

"Ok" I sighed and followed him inside, I went to my room and laid on my bed and threw the ball up and caught it in my mitt, this went on for what seemed like hours, then I got an idea

I went back to Scott's room "Hey, wanna go out and ride bikes some more?" I asked "I won't make you play baseball if you don't want to, I was just gonna go watch those other boys play, and I didn't wanna leave you out"

He looked up from what he was doing and sighed "Ok, I'll go with you, only because I wanna play baseball" he got up and a smile grew on my face

"You actually wanna learn?" I asked

"Yeah" He said walking past me and going to the door

"Hey dad we'll be right back ok?" I asked

"Ok, be back before seven" he said

"We will!" I Said

We ran out the door and ran to the field, when we arrived they were still playing there game, it was like it was an endless game, Scotty and I snuck in through the bushes, we both brought our mitts just in case something happened, then we heard a dog barking and a chain rattling, we looked behind us to see the gate being shaken

"LOOK OUT!!!" A voice yelled

We turned around and looked up in the air, I saw a baseball barreling down towards us, Scotty tried to catch it, but he fell down instead, I heard the other boys laugh at him, I rolled my eyes and helped up Scotty

"You ok?" I asked

"Yeah I'm fine" he said "Ill get it!!" Scotty yelled at the boys then walking towards where the ball was, I crossed my arms and looked at him bending down and snatching it from under the bush

"WE'RE WAITING!!!" A boy yelled

Scotty then planted his feet on the ground and held his hand back to throw the ball, but when he did it landed three feet in front of him then I heard the boys laughing at him again, this time they fell to the ground laughing except for one boy

"My life's over!" I heard Scotty say before running away

"Scotty" I said in sympathy I sighed and looked at the ball on the ground, I picked it up

"HEY!" I yelled to the boys before throwing it to the boy who wasn't laughing, they seemed to be shocked

"THANKS!" I heard them yell

"YOU'RE WELCOME!" I yelled back before running after Scotty

Later that night I heard Scotty's mom talking to him, I heard her say that he needed friends and of course he denied it, but there was so much more to Scotty, I just knew it! He just needed practice, not just with baseball, but, he needed to get out into the world, She then came out of his room

"Oh, hi /Y/N/" She said

"Hi Mrs. Smalls, I mean, mom" I said "Umm I'm just gonna say that, Scotty has potential, he just needs practice, not with baseball but, you know"

"I know, I bet it was hard for you to move too, huh?" She asked

"Yeah I left some of my really good friends, but you know, we can always make new ones" I Said

"Could you do me a favor?" She asked

"Sure" I Said

"Please look after Scotty, make sure he's outside and making new friends" she said

"Of course Mom, I mean Mrs. Smalls" I Said

"You can call me mom" she said walking away, then I went upstairs and went to sleep
