Chapter 5 |Dreadful hours|

*Read the AN at the end, important stuff!!!!!*

***************Dean's POV*************

I lean against the Novaks' mailbox silently wait for Cas. I think back to yesterday for the thousandth time. I really shouldn't have done that. But it felt right. I get knocked out of my trace when I see Cas walking down his driveway. Something seems different about him. Well, you just kissed him yesterday so maybe that has something to do with it. I push that voice back and walk along side with Cas.

I take a deep breath and start talking, "Cas, I'm sorry about yesterday. I just can't - it was stupid and I shouldn't have done it."

He nods once, "It's okay. Just sorta weird."

"But look, a few years we can look back on this and laugh! Like that time Sammy pushed you down the stairs and you needed stitches!"

He laughs, shoving me. I shove him back softly. I point to his long sleeved shirt, "Anyway, what's with the shirt? It's gonna be warmer later." I state, tugging his sleeves up. He pulls away sharply, rubbing his arm.

"I think I'm coming down with something. I don't really feel well." he says crossing his arms over his chest. I nod and keep walking beside him. The walk from now on is quiet. We steal glances at each other. I know something is wrong with him, I just know. He's felt this way before. He's done this before.

I wave goodbye to Cas and walk to Latin, my first class. I turn the corner and see Crowley, King of Hell. Well, that's his nickname. He deserves it too, being the bitch he is.

"Oh, it's the little faggot!" he says. I try and maneuver around him but he blocks me.

"Crowley, move or I'm going to beat your ass." I say, cleching my fists.

"Oooh, what's the faggot going to do to me, kiss me?" he makes kissy noises. I roll my eyes and slam my fist into his jaw. His head whips around, almost making him fall, but catches himself. Rage flashes in his eyes, making me run to class. I see a few teachers who call after me, but then one stops Crowley who was chasing me. I take the longer route to class today. The bell rings and I slow down, as I am already late.

"Winchester, do you have a pass?" I shake my head no as I wander in. The teacher, Mr. Smith, sighs and writes something on a pink slip of paper.

"Stay after school, Mr. Winchester." I shrug and shove the paper into my binder. The class proceeds and I zone out, as usual.

I jump when the bell rings, pulling me out of my daydream.

I make it to lunch without falling asleep in class. I drop my tray next to Cas and nudge him. He only has an apple and yogurt on his tray. He smiles slightly and continues to play with his shirt sleeves.

"Are you okay, Cas?" I ask him, concerned.

He shrugs and gives me his apple, "Not feeling well."

"You have to eat, man. Just more than that crap." I point to the strawberry yogurt. He just shrugs and lays his head on his arms.

"Why don't you go home, buddy? If you feel so bad." He shrugs again and closes his bright blue eyes. "Cas, come on." I pull him up and walk to the office, abandoning our trays.

He stays silent while shuffling through the empty halls. I sneak a glance at his somber face. It is filled with guilt. His blue eyes aren't as bright. His mouth is turned down.

We walk into the small office. The office lady is on the phone with a parent. She gives us a nod, beginning to write something down in pen. She says goodbye to the other person and turns to us. "How can I help you?"she asks.
