In this, the Institute has sent a synth double of you. This is how your lover tells the difference.

MacCready
Your hands. You were always wanting to hold his hand or cling to his arm, and lately, you hadn't touched him for a second. He picked up on it, but didn't know who to go to for help.

Hancock
Your figure seemed odd. The way your ass moved when you walked was off, and someone scolded him for so openly staring before he muttered that something was up.

Nick
Your mind wasn't responding correctly. For some reason, you'd been making choices you wouldn't normally make, and he quickly picked up on it.

Deacon
You didn't laugh at his joke. You always laugh at his jokes, even if they're awful. He's aware of that, and when you didn't even crack a smile, he knew something was up, and immediately consulted Tinker Tom and Des about it.

X6-88
He knew immediately because the look in your eyes was the same look buried deep within his own. He recognized it, and consulted the scientists about what the hell they were doing.

Preston
Your smile. He knew your smile by heart and he could tell if it was genuine or not. When he told you something, your smile seemed off, and he noticed it.

Sturges
You weren't as enthusiastic. Whenever he showed you something, you'd always be amazed, but lately, you'd been lacking in excitement. He decided to do a scan without your knowledge.

Gage
For some reason, you were a bit too ruthless. Gage liked some gore, but you'd become too much lately. You would condemn raiders to death over simple things, and all the raider gangs were getting pissed off about it.

Travis
Travis noticed how you'd been sticking to the shadow's lately. You were usually so full of life and always greeting people and asking how they were doing. When you didn't for a week straight, he figured it was time to figure out what was up.

Danse
You were using different movements in battle, and he quickly recognized them as the movements of a synth, but kept quiet, wanting to speak to Maxson before jumping to conclusions.

Maxson
He only found out because the Institute called out to him and said that they had you hostage, then mocked him for fucking a synth the night before.

Codsworth
You clamped up. You always wanted to listen to him, and when you suddenly cut him off every time he spoke, he knew something was wrong.

Butch
Butch did something absolutely adorable, and beamed at you. It broke his heart when you shoved him out of the way and ignored him for a week. He knew you would never do that, and was determined to find out what was going on.

Gob
Gob dropped something in the kitchen, and you immediately got out your gun and shot at him, grazing his ear and making him bleed a little. When you didn't apologize or get up to help, he knew something was seriously wrong.

Charon
Charon noticed you acting a little bit like him, and he hated it. He asked why you were being so gruff and quiet lately, when you didn't respond, it set him off.

Arcade
You always let him test his new healing projects on you, and when you refused to let him inject something into your forearm as he had done a month earlier, he wondered what was wrong, and consulted Julie about it.

Boone
Boone was aware of how jumpy you were. Whenever he fired his gun from inside the house, you'd jump, because you never got used to it. When he fired, and you didn't move a muscle, he knew something was up.

Raul
He noticed that you stopped caring. Mostly about the environment. You always loved helping him plant stuff, but lately you'd been littering and not caring about walking on the plants.

Benny
While sober, Benny asked for sex. You refused and he asked to gamble. You refused and he asked if you wanted to drink with him. You refused, and he asked if you wanted to smoke with him. You refused and he frowned, knowing that one of those four things was how you two usually loved spending time together.

Swank
He came home with really good news, and your reaction was as dry as the girls at Gomorrah. Anytime he had good news, and was happy, you were happy with/for him.

Dean
He was humming to himself, and whenever he did, you complemented him. When you didn't, he thought he was just being too cocky, and shut up. When you didn't ask him to sing for you in a week, thats when he knew something was wrong.

Yes Man
You never said thanks. You usually thanked him for every little thing, and one night, he made you a fancy dinner. You avoided it completely and he got confused, wondering if he had upset you.

Victor
He just knew. Something was off about you, and he couldn't quite put his finger on it. It bugged him for way longer than he'd like to admit, and it made his "thinking part" hurt.

Ten of Spades
He said something about his boss's dog, and knew that you'd want to go give it a visit. You always go give the dog a pet and a scratch, so when you said no, he thought you were upset with him.

Vulpes
You refused to fight him. You and Vulpes were always ready to go through some hand-to-hand combat training with one another, and you never refused. When you did, he got curious as to why, and asked a shit ton of questions.

Joshua
He'd been quoting the Bible, and you cut him off, finishing the statement. He did a few more and you reacted the same every time. He knew you didn't know the Bible that well...

Follows-Chalk
He never thought about you being 'replaced', but he did notice the changes in you. The sheer lack of emotion was the biggest issue, since feeling was a quality of yours he'd fallen in love with.

Ulysses
Whenever he'd ramble on about history, instead of cuddling up against him and pretending to listen, you'd silence him, which was something you'd never done. It made him feel a little bad about himself, but he was more so worried about you.

Dr. O
You were mean to him. You were never mean to him, no matter what. Five minutes after a heated argument you'd go and ask what he wanted for dinner, or if he wanted ice cream or something. When you didn't talk to him for days on end, he felt absolutely awful.

Dr. Klein
You refused to help him with anything. He'd ask for you to politely hand him a pen and you'd scoff and tell him to do it himself, when his hands were full. He would just blush, and feel bad for asking for so much. He just figured he'd pushed you too hard.

Dr. Mobius
He never peer-pressured you into chems, he'd always offer, and you'd say yes or no, and he wouldn't push. When he offered one time, you went off telling him about the bad side effects to an extent where he just sat wide-eyes and didn't know what to do.
