Nothing significant sound unleashed a real slaughter.
The seemingly normal and unmistakable crackling sound of the raven was echoed around the area. Having a bad feeling, I straightened out, wrinkling my eyebrows. I illustrated the forest in front of me with a vigilant eye.

And then there was an explosion.

The wave hit me with a force big enough to fly a few meters ahead. I hit the ground with my chest. My head was pulsating with blunt pain caused by the impact on the protruding root. I felt like a thin blood cone of blood dripping down somewhere near my eyebrows. I was frozen for a few moments. I was not able to move any limb. They were as stiff as logs. Voices reached me muffled, as if I was under water, between me and others, I was separated by a sheet of water.
Suddenly everything stopped.

A second later, all the noises hit me with a doubled force. It made my skull almost explode. A sudden, unexpected dose of adrenaline hit me with great force. I opened my eyes wide and started to rise. I saw in front of me a masculine silhouette rushing in my direction.
Moved, Haron ran up to me and grabbed my hand, helping me to get up. When I finally got back on my feet, he pulled me in the direction of his cars. On a fast march, under the cover of trees, we headed for three black cars.

'They blew up your car' he told me. 'There are a few packets of cocaine left in it, so let's try to get out of here as soon as possible, or we'll see police's lights' he warned me.

I coughed loudly.

'Move!' he shouted. 'Somehow the dogs learned about today's handover'

She put her ears up. Indeed. He wiped away the muffled sound of the police sirens to me. Blood flowed out of my face.

'But how is that?' I almost shouted. 'Maybe one of your people let go of a couple?' I accused people who were currently in panic loading the last of the goods onto a pack of cars.

'Or maybe it was you?' He was outraged. 'To this day I have not told them anything. They found out about everything a few hours ago.'

'Come on!' I stopped behind the thick oak trunk. I watched him with anger. 'I'm not like Benjamin!'

'I wouldn't be so sure' he glowed me with his eyes. 'Nobody except you and me knew about today's action.'

'How dare you accuse me of such a thing?!' I opened my mouth, squinting furiously. 'Or maybe you are the snitch? And now you're just pretending to be the saint you've never been.' I stabbed him in the chest with my finger.

I felt a juicy cheek. Momentarily, the skin began to bake me.
Without wondering for a long time or waiting for his reaction, I hit back. Strong and worked out right hook, I hit him in the jaw. I was pretty sure that something had swallowed.

' Fuck' he said surprised. He was massaging the mandible.

'Never even try to accuse me of something similar' I growled furious.

I stood stiffly, with my fists clenched. Clenching my jaw too tightly, I was aiming at it with a murderous gaze.

'All right! Sorry!' he roared. 'I was carried away.' he admitted it by raising his hands up. 'And now we better get out of here, because they're about to catch us' he purrs. 'Run after me' he said, and then he sprinted towards the wagons.

Without unnecessary talking, I followed him. I kept a constant distance between us, about three meters. Seemingly not much, but if someone wanted to shoot in the direction of Haron, there would have been a lesser risk that an untargeted shot would have hit me.

On the left side I had a perfect view of the burning rental car. Right next to it, a dozen or so people started to leave the forest. Against the background of the flame dancing sinisterly, I saw black, masculine silhouettes. At some point, the reflective inscription "POLICE" bounced off the lights of the pick-ups. It confused me for a moment. And it was these few seconds that decided about everything.
