S1E8 - uncles at war

'Josh, Josh' I whispered as I shook him awake

'Mm' he groaned ' Mm Brooke what's wrong?'

'There's a noise downstairs' I whispered back scared

'Are you sure?' He whispered as he rubbed his eyes and leaned up on his elbows

'Positive' I nodded back

'Ok, I'll go check' he lifted himself out of bed and grabbed the baseball bat that he keeps next to my bed

'Be careful' I whispered nervously

I sat cross legged on the bed listening out to make sure Josh was ok when I heard three screams. I leaped out of bed and ran down the stairs as fast as I could to see Josh and Jesse with baseball bats raised at eachother and Joey.

'Josh' I screamed before I could see what was going on and jumped into his arms 'oh thank god you're ok'

'Joey' dad shouted as he ran downstairs 'what's going on? What's with all the screaming?'

Joey turned on the lights and I unattached myself from Josh.

'Danny these psychos were about to mash my potato' Joey said as he held up his giant mr potato head

'I was not' Jesse groaned

'Yeah me neither' Josh shook his head

'I heard a noise down here' Jesse said

'So did Brooke, I came to check it out' Josh nodded

'Yeah I thought it was a prowler, now follow me it was over here' Jesse said as we all crept behind him and Josh with their baseball bats

'Hello' DJ and Steph said from on the stairs behind us, making us jump

'Do you guys play baseball every night when we go to sleep?' Stephanie asked us

'Well actually girls, your uncles are holding bats because they're a wee bit miffed at me' Joey said

'A wee bit miffed?' Jesse asked 'I'm miffed off'

'Come on Jesse let bygones be bygones' Joey said as Jesse walked closer to him as he walked back

'Ok bye, you're gone' Jesse growled

'I don't know what this is about but why don't you hug it out?' Dad asked as they both looked unimpressed 'high five?'

'I'll tell you what this is about, a story entitled mean mr Joey stabs nice innocent Jesse in the back' Jesse said

'Story time' DJ smiled and sat on the sofa with Steph

'You don't wanna hear that story do you?' Dad asked them

'Yeah, it's got a great title' DJ nodded

'OK one quick story' dad nodded

'It all started last week, the exterminator business was slow so I decided to start teaching guitar. I was waiting for my new student to turn up. After the lesson I invited corinna for a ride on my motorcycle, we had a candlelit dinner and everything. Seven hours later we got back here and I invited her to stay for drinks but she had other plans. I couldn't stop smiling, but I did, thanks to him' Jesse spoke 'corinna and me were madly in love. Mr backstabber why don't you tell everyone what you did today?'

'Well it was stormy and me and Danny and the girls were getting ready to watch the wizard of oz. The doorbell rang so I answered it and it was corinna, Jesse was running late so I invited her to watch the movie with us. The cable wasn't working because of the storm so I did my impressions of the wizard of oz from my act, corinna said she loved it. Danny went to get the girls ready for bed. Me and corinna were talking on the couch as she asked me on a date for straight after jesse's lesson. I remembered how Jesse had been talking about corinna and excused myself but she followed me out into the kitchen' Joey said 'then she kissed me and I kissed her back, then Jesse came up the stairs. Jesse sent corinna home. I wanted to talk things out but Jesse said he couldn't stand to look at me'

'Alright girls, time for sleep after that wonderful bed time story' dad said as he got the girls up and to the stairs

'What do you know? We stay at your house for one night and miss all of this' I shook my head to Josh jokingly

The men spoke it through and made up which made me really happy.

'There's that noise again' I said and Jesse opened the door

'Corinna?' He asked as she stepped in

'I wanted to apologise' she said

'No don't' Jesse said 'I might have met you first but I'd like you to get to know Joey'

'Come on Jess, let's leave these two alone' dad pulled jesses arm as corinna and Joey hugged

'Night everyone' i yelled as I walked with Josh back up the stairs

'Night' Josh called out

'Goodnight you two' they all called back
