"CAKE IS BETTER." Ricky Bowen squinted at me and I rolled my eyes. We were really arguing whether regular cakes or cheesecakes are better. He was not gonna win this one.
"Are you serious?" I said, my mouth full of the cheesecake I ordered which was the reason for the argument. He sat in front of me, both hands crossed together. We've been at this restaurant for maybe an hour and a half, just talking and talking. We have not run out of things to talk about. Ever since our little picnic this morning. "Cake is kind of gross."
"You're insane!" He chuckled as I finished the last bite on my plate. "Cheesecake is so bland!" Ricky rolled his eyes in defense.
"You know what? This has been my worst date ever." I sarcastically say causing Ricky to chuckle. I joined it, smiling brightly at him. We looked at each other for a moment, a very eerie but comfortable silence.
"Rome?" He chimes in suddenly, breaking the silence. I looked him in the eyes as he earns an "mhm?" from me. "So," He drags on the word and I got impatient. "Do you want to officially be my girlfriend?" My eyes slightly widened, and he laughs at my reaction. "Is that a no?"
