Breathing.

Something very simple, though Harry was currently struggling to do his body's most basic function. Why ? He's not sure, he never is. Sometimes he just feels pain in his chest and then breathing is hard, sometimes his breath just catches. But both end with a downward spiral of negative thoughts, spluttering words and short, staggered breaths that he can't control.

This once happened during the filming of a Sidemen Sunday, oh the other boys were so utterly confused. Harry hadn't had this happen in front of the boys yet. Everything was going well, Harry hadn't had a negative thought in a few days so he didn't understand where this came from. They were filming a football video except they were using a huge inflatable dart board in the back garden of the Sidemen house. It was Harry's turn to kick the ball and as soon as he was centimetres away, his breathing hitched and a flood of feelings and thoughts washed over him in the matter of seconds before he stumbled over the ball, crumbling to the floor and clutching his chest like that would help. A sharp pain spread throughout his chest, making it even harder to breathe. The other boys paused, watching. They thought he was messing with them until they heard raspy gasps and a string of curse words fall from the younger's mouth, Josh was first at his side, Dad mode activating whilst trying to get Harry to sit upright. Soon after the others followed, Ethan rushing inside to get Harry a glass of water. The lads managed to get him in a chair that was outside, his leg bouncing up and down rapidly whilst he was still struggling to breathe with every passing minute. This went on for what felt like hours to Harry. Tobi was holding his hand whilst the others comforted him and tried to snap the poor lad out of it. The youngest boy was repeatedly spewing apologies and other gibberish in his disoriented state.

Eventually the whole thing subsided, it took them almost 20 minutes but the other Sidemen managed to calm whatever  he was going through. The boys aren't sure what they just witnessed, so they decided to give him awhile before they asked. Of course they were getting Josh to do it as he is Dad™ but also the most responsible in these situations.
When it came around to it, they were sat in the living room having a break from filming for obvious reasons. Harry had barely said a word since and had cornered himself off slightly, he was sat on the only single chair with his hood up and knees hugged against his chest. His face was still a bit flushed from the ordeal and embarrassment that he had that happen in front of the boys. Josh decided that this was an alright time to ask about what on earth happened and to see if there was anything he could do to help.

Harry got up to go to the kitchen, so Josh decided to follow swiftly behind. "Harry ?" He kept his voice smooth and calm, trying not to startle him. "Ah– uh yes Josh ?" He turned around to face the elder man, already knowing the impending conversation that was about to happen. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened ? You just sorta... collapsed out of nowhere." Harry visibly tensed and Josh noticed, he felt guilty though he knew he had to ask to help him. Harry sighed, knowing he wasn't going to get out of this one.

So he explained. He explained the thoughts, the spiralling, the growing chest pain when it happens, the inaudible words. Harry tried his best to explain it all. Josh listened, thinking and waiting for him to finish. When Harry did finish, he felt a small bit of weight lift from his shoulders but he knew that if he wanted to lift it all, Harry would have to tell the other boys. To his surprise, Josh wasn't weird about it and didn't think of him differently just because he had a problem that he didn't know how to fix. Josh suggested that when he was ready, Harry should tell the other boys so that they all could try and help but also to be aware, not just Josh. So he did. After that conversation, Harry readied himself, took a deep breath and, with a hug from Josh also, went to tell the rest of the boys.
Like he did with Josh, he explained everything whilst also apologising about what happened out there. Of course the other Sidemen told him there was no need to apologise and were all willing to help Harry by any means possible. They all shared a loving group hug, telling Harry nice things, hell even JJ was being super nice and considerate. And it's bloody JJ.
Now for the first time in a long time, Harry felt as if he had the thing he struggled to keep control of most back,

Breathing.
