Okay, first of all, I apologize for taking 29573 years to update ya'll with a new chapter. Second of all, I apologize for the unreasonably short length of this long awaited update! I really wanted to give you all a lengthier chapter but this is all I could come up with before I had to get to bed in time for work in the morning! Regardless, I hope you all enjoy this chapter, and I hope to have you all a much longer chapter in the very short future!! Let me know what you think with a vote and comment!

"You mean to tell me, you spent the night with this man, and you still couldn't manage to get any other information from him?" Harvey bellowed from across the sitting room of the Lingard's home.

Mila had awoken on the sofa of Josef's flat just as the morning sun had began to gleam through the windows. Stepping over Josef's sleeping frame, she had changed back into her dress from the night before and had slipped out the front door unnoticed. Walking the quarter mile back to her home, she had showered and changed, gulping down a rather tall cup of coffee before walking out the door again. She had been sitting in the Lingard's sitting room ever since listening to Harvey bark his obvious disappointment in the lack of information she had gleaned from her night with 'the captain.'

"I told you," She began through gritted teeth. "Staying the night wasn't the plan..."

"I don't care if it was the bloody plan!" Harvey yelled. "Use it to your advantage!"

"Harvey..." Catherine chimed in, visibly uncomfortable at what Harvey had just insinuated.

"No Cat," He cut her off. "She wanted this job ... She came to us, not the other way around," He added, turning back around to face Mila. "Do you think other agents get treated the way you do?" He asked, cocking a patronizing eyebrow. "Do you think their handlers coach them on every move they make before they make it?"

"Harvey..." Catherine began again.

"Because they don't - They're on their own!" He continued. "You asked for this job ... You asked to be an SIS agent - It's damned time you started acting like one!"

"Harvey!" Catherine repeated, more forcefully this time.

"No Catherine," Mila spoke up. "He's right." Harvey and Catherine stared back at her, an incredulous look painted across each of their faces. "Any other agent would've had the information you need by now," She added. "I've been playing it too safe with Captain Fischer."

It was true ... She had been playing it safe with Josef. In part, because she was fearful of being found out. But if she were honest with herself, that wasn't the entire reason behind it. Against her better judgement, she had genuinely been enjoying her time with Josef. It was so easy to forget herself when she was around him ... So easy to forget the war that had engulfed the world around them for the past three years.

"I asked you something before we ever started this arrangement," Harvey began, his tone a bit less harsh than before. "I asked if you could separate yourself from your emotions - If you could detach yourself from any feelings that might develop," He continued, sitting down in the armchair across from Mila. Leaning forward, he propped his elbows on the tops of his knees, eyeing her intently. "I'll ask you again, and I want you to be honest with me. Can you do this job?"

"I can," Mila nodded, returning Harvey's intense gaze.

"Then start acting like it, and get me information on those transports," He replied, taking a long pull from the glass of scotch sitting on the end table beside him. "Don't be reckless, but do what has to be done."
