LET ME

Let me be stucked here—
my head on your chest,
your lips on the top of my head.
Naked,
vulnerable,
silent.
With just blankets
and starry night
above us.

Let me embrace you—
without the fear that you'll soon go away,
without the thought that maybe this is just for temporary,
and without the sound of my heartbeat slowly losing its rhythm.

Let me stay here—
while peace slowly lingers into my lungs,
while we close the distance between our skin,
and while the world slows down from rotating.

Let me look into your eyes—
like this is the last.
Because I won't find another soul
willing to dive into my depths,
see my mess,
uncover what hides underneath,
and still loves me
without losing a little of it.

Maybe,
I won't be able to feel this again
so,
let me write forever in this moment,
let me make this permanent,
and let me allow this very second to live for eternity.

Let my heart beat for this
while it lasts—
while it's not yet a memory.

Let me—
while it's not yet slipping away,
while goodbye isn't
the only word left to say.

While you're still here.
While I still own you.
