Chapter 2- Ultrasound

~Quinn's POV~

I lie with my shirt up while the nurse is putting gel on my tummy.

She puts the wand on my belly and I look up at the screen. Nina is sat beside me while looking at the screen

"I can't see it" she says and I laugh

The nurse points out the baby on the screen and I smile.

"You are about 8 weeks" the nurse said

She rubs the wand about more on my belly and takes pictures on the screen so she can print them out. I still haven't told anyone but Nina that I'm pregnant.

It's not ideal and my parents aren't going to be happy because I've just finished college, but we will make it work.

"When's my due date miss?" I ask the nurse.

"Please call me Ciara" she said "due to the information you have told me your due date is around January 1st, you might have yourself a new year baby" she smiled

"Thank you" I said and look at Nina and smile, I'm so glad to have my best friend here.

The nurse wipes the gel of my tummy and hands me the ultrasound pictures, you can't tell that there's a baby in the because it's that small.

"Please come back at about 15 weeks for your second ultrasound" the nurse asked and handed me an appointment card

"And again at 20 weeks" she said and wrote down a date on another card for the 20 week appointment.

"At that point in your pregnancy you can find out the gender of your baby if you wish"

I nod and get up

"Thank you so much" I say to the nurse while walking out the door with Nina behind me.

We walk out and Nina hugs me

"I'm so happy for you" she said

"I'm actually starting the get excited" I reply

"What about the gender"

"I will definitely be finding out at the 20 week appointment so I can be prepared"

She does an excited jump, I think she's more excited than me.

We walk outside towards my car

"Let's go baby shopping" I giggle

We walk into the baby shop and I immediately walk over towards the baby clothes and pick up a onesie

I hold it up while pouting to Nina because it's so small

She pouts back at me and grabs it and puts in the the basket.

We're having to buy unisex clothes until I find out the gender of my baby.

We walk to the checkout, we only got a few items of clothes for the baby, we didn't want to go overboard just yet.

I paid once the cashier told me the price and I walk out of the shop towards my car.

It is Ninas fathers dinner party tomorrow night so we both go to a few shops to pick up clothes to wear.

Once we have finished shopping we stop in a little restaurant to get some food.

We sit down a the table and made conversation while waiting for the food to come along.

I hear the door chime and look up, it's Carter, Ninas brother and another boy, must be Hendrix, Nina was telling me about him.
