Think about this. The first time Chuuya took trust in Dazai was at the age of fifteen. They went on countless missions after that, until Dazai betrayed Port Mafia and left on his own.

After that long of a time, Chuuya still trusts him.

He trusted Dazai personally that he will nullify his ability instead of letting him die

He trusted Dazai personally that he will nullify his ability instead of letting him die. To the Armed Detective Agency, it would be better for Dazai not save Chuuya since he is a big threat to the agency, plus he's from an enemy organization. There's definitely some personal emotions displayed there.

Dazai also needs to trust Chuuya enough that he won't kill him when he used corruption. Chuuya could become really powerful but also deadly dangerous, so he needs to trust Chuuya's little conscious left won't kill Dazai along with the enemies. And Chuuya didn't.

 And Chuuya didn't

Dead Apple scene again

Dead Apple scene again. I think it's a strategy of theirs, for Dazai to be caught by the enemy to get information while Chuuya rescues him later, then Dazai will nullify his ability. It requires a huge amount of trust in each other. However, there was zero communication between them in dead apple, yet both trusted one another so much that they were willing to put their life on the line to test it out.

I've seen people (who don't think they hate each other) constantly saying they are just good friends or just ex-partners that work really well together. But consider this: If either of them was a girl, meaning if they were a straight ship, people would most likely stop saying that they're just friends. So why can't they be canon even though they are both guys?

The dynamic is totally good, and I'm serious when I say I want them to be canon. But of course, the truth is, many haters are rather homophobic (I'm not saying all, yet some definitely are).
