The good news was that Rebecca wasn't dead. And for someone who was assaulted by that cloud creature and inhaled it like a child breathing in before blowing out a birthday cake candle, feeling light-headed is not a bad price to pay. The bad part was that it seemed to get worse.

She could still feel the biting cold atmosphere that she had been dealing with since she got out of the cryo-chamber, but the longer she sat at this industrial grey metal table, the less control she felt she had over her senses. Davian was still feeling out of it, but over the last hour his conversation skills were getting better. Those other cloud things had followed them into the mess area that had not been prepped for use yet.

Rebecca tried desperately to focus on the conversation, yet the voices of Davin and Mike began to get muffled as her mind got wrenched into her consciousness.

She could still see the scene of Davin and Mike talking in front of her, straining her ears, the conversation was still barely audible. Her hands were off the wheel of her own mind and she was freaking the fuck out.

Being a prisoner in her own mind had it's benefits, she was definitely prepared for it considering the amount of My Chemical Romance albums she had downloaded on her phone.

The dried blood was still caked on her upper lip, from the faucet that her nose became after the creature attacked her. The pillar of light she was sitting cross-legged in provided no heat, and the eerie blackness that surrounded her was worrying unfamiliar.

Rebecca watched as Mike noticed her out of the corner of his eye, 'Oh god Mike, for fucks sake just figure out what's wrong, don't worry about me'. Obviously he couldn't hear her and in a swift moment, he was looking into her eyes. The muffled voice of Mike speaking at her but her body was frozen. The look of concern, as he turned to Davian as they were both looking at her as the needling pain began.

The atmosphere thickened and in a moment she was breathing in molasses. A fog began to roll in and swirl around her, as the light she was in began to ripple around her. The fog that rolled in began to crystallize in front of her into a floating effigy of the mystifying situation she found herself in. The maw of the cloud creature rising above this floating symbol looking deep into her soul.

And there it was.

A soft whisper that Rebecca felt in her being, that hummed and buzzed, reverberating as the piercing pain returned. No words yet there was a thought, becoming clearer and clearer in her mind.

Help me

The cloudy window that Rebecca could see out to the ship was no help. Mike and Davian were speaking to her, trying to get a response to no avail. There was nothing, and she was in deep shit.
