"She"
She walks by me every day,
beautiful,
her white blouse tucked into
loose brown pants with a matching vest,
her sandals black over bare
white feet,
always the same,
the same pants and vest, the same
billowing, collared blouse,
always clean and starched, always worn
the day before.
She works in a fabric store,
cutting cloth and I watch her,
her long brown hair,
her slim fingers as they
slice through all that cloth
behind a double pane
of glass.
