Journey 2: Ocean's Daughter

𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑛

(Still Evelyn's PoV)

"Hey, you alright?" I asked Sean, once I caught up to him
"Yeah, fine. Just, you know, I don't need Hank trying to tell me what to do all the time" he said and sighs
"He only knows and wants what's best for you, he cares about you and most important it's to keep you safe, like right now he's trying to get you home safe and in one piece" I tell him trying to cheer him up a bit at least
"But it gets so embarrassing that he tries to hard" he tells me a bit frustrated
"Is it really though? The worst would be if fathers didn't try at all" I tell him while smiling remembering my dad
"Oh really? What's your dad like? Sorry, it's okay if you don't want to answer. Also I'm sorry about asking about your parents earlier before we got to the Grotto" he tells me while scratching the back of his neck

"It's alright and my dad? Well you could say I was daddy's little girl, he always encouraged me in my sword training against my two cousins sense they wanted to teach me. Dad was like my number one supporter while mom was second because she was a bit skeptical about my cousins cause their not always careful, they always cheered the loudest whenever I went against someone in the tournaments. Sure to others it looks embarrassing to their point of view but in mine, I saw how much they support me, how much they love me and with their love and support it made me grow, stronger and wiser. Do you understand what I'm saying here Sean?" I tell him while smiling remembering those days and looking up at the sky
"You're right, and your parents sound nice and your cousins sound interesting" Sean tells me
"Dam right I am, and thanks" I tell him while playing with my sword necklace with my fingertips

We continued to walk side by side in comfortable silence, whenever our arms brushed against each other I give him a side glance and noticed he has a small blush
Eventually Hank caught up to us and started walking with us, then the two  started to ask questions about the island, the flora and fauna, to which I answered happily but I didn't wanted to mention Thorn yet gotta keep her a secret until it's time to surprise everyone. They started telling me about where their from, the states, and about the president though I pretended to be interested but before you judge me, I already knew this because well that's a surprise;)

Look around and noticed Kailani is talking to her dad, Hank is continuing on where he left off in the book "Mysterious Island", Sean is walking by my side in peaceful silence and Alexander has his nose deep in Nemo's journal though occasionally looking at his compass.
Coming to the end of the jungle I started looking around for Thorn with a smile on my face and after two minutes I noticed Hank take out his map looking at it for a moment then looking back up confused, finally spotting Thorn close by I had to hold back an excitement laugh because looking closely at Thorn it's noticeable that she had a growth spurt (A/n: I named her after Thorn from Scooby Doo aka the Hex Girls)

"Alexander, are you sure your compass readings are correct?" Hank questions while looking back at him
"Of course I am, why?" Alexander asked Hank
"Why? Because we're down here, and we need to be all the way up there" Hank said while pointing at the top of the falls
"Ohh don't worry Hank, to every problem there is a solution and this is a fun one" I said while stepping forward in front of everyone smiling ear to ear looking right at Thorn
"You think, this is a fun one, eh? Hey, does anyone have an umbrella because apparently Marry Poppins here is gonna fly us to the top the cliff" Hank slightly mocked me but I took it as a joke making me chuckle, before Alexander can do something or say something.

I did a loud whistle and shouted out
"THORN!" and coming out of the tall grass is a former queen bee heading my way, when I met her she was clustered by a bunch of bees basically balling her (A/n: that's how male bees get rid of their queen, death through balling is accomplished by surrendering the queen and raising her body temperature which causes her to overheat and die) but I didn't let it happen and even though it took a couple days to gain her trust she's been loyal to me since that day for the past 4 years, she even let me put a saddle on her to make the seating comfortable and just something to hold onto.
