Third Times A Charm (Draco Malfoy x Reader)

Acceptance

Things have been going pretty well since your breakup with Cedric. You gave Cedric back his hoodie in Care of Magical Creatures the day after it happened. You still feel bad about how things played out but you've both come to terms with it. Your breeding project is going amazingly, you both enjoy the material and working together is still very natural.

You've began to spend more time with Draco than usual. You don't think it was intentional it just gradually happened. It started with study sessions then it turned into daily hang outs and now you two go to Hogsmeade every weekend. You've noticed changes in yourself, you've began to try harder around Draco. You'll do your hair less casual or put on light makeup before hanging out one on one with him.

"I swear if you state one more magical history fact I will throw this piece of bread at your head" Theo says to Pansy as she prepares for her upcoming test

You and your friends are chilling in the common room before curfew. Theo is eating his leftover bread from dinner, Blaise is helping Pansy study for her test, and you and Draco are playing wizards chess

"Shut up Nott, not all of us can be as smart as you and Draco are" Pansy glaring at him. Blaise wraps his arm around her shoulder while looking down at her notes

"Hey what about me?" you says mock offended that Pansy didn't mention your name in the list of smart people

"You know your smart y/n, I don't need to remind you and give you a gloating opportunity" Pansy says tilting her head from side to side sassily

You gasp and place your hand on your chest pretending to be offended

"So you won't give me praise for fear of it going to my head, but you praise him?!?" you say pointing at Draco in an over exaggerated way

Draco smacks your hand that's pointing at him. You glare at him and he laughs. You crack a small smile at his laugh before turning your attention back to Pansy

"Okay all jokes aside and everything I think you're going to be fine, you're smart no matter what you think about yourself"

"Y/ns right" Blaise says looking into Pansy's eyes "You've always been extraordinary at everything you do, why would this be any different" he gives her a smile

Pansy looks into Blaise's eyes and it's as if they forgot they're in a room with other people

You look at Blaise and Pansy with a smile, heart warmed by their affection for each other. You wished somebody would look at you like that...love you like that. But little did you know Draco was looking at you like that while you were looking at Blaise and Pansy, he only stopped staring at you when he saw something fly by him in the corner of his eye

Theo threw a piece of bread at Pansy and Blaise "Gross, you guys do know there are other people here right, I'm trying to eat"

'And Pansy called him the smart one' you thought to yourself

"This is why you don't have a girlfriend Theo" you say to him

"Where's that boyfriend huh?" he says raising his hands in the air in a question form and looking from side to side as if he were searching for something

"Sod off" you say slightly upset seeing as relationships were a sore subject for you

"Tough subject?" Theo asks genuinely but he's not helping

"Theodore" Draco says giving Theo a look

He got the hint and stopped talking. You give Draco a nod of thank you and continue your game of wizards chess

"Well I'm off to bed" Pansy says packing up her books and standing up

"I'll walk you to your dorm Blaise says" standing up and taking Pansy's book bag off her hands
