❝𝐎𝐎𝐎, 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐉𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐘❞Elena says to Stefan the next day as he walks to her and Florence as they both walk into the school car park for the football game
"What happened? No more cheerleader?" Stefan asks her
"I quit, I'm a quitter" Elena sighs disappointedly while Florence wraps an arm around her shoulders
"You're not a quitter, you have suffered a loss — both of you — " Stefan looked at Florence for a moment "And you're not the same person, you should be looking ahead, you should be starting over okay? I hope you don't think it's too soon or too weird but I, uh, I wanted you to have this " Stefan says as he opens a box to show a necklace
"Oh my god it's beautiful" Elena says admiring the necklace
While Elena was busy admiring the necklace, Stefan looked at Florence and gestured to the necklace Elena was holding and Florence sighed quietly and quickly made sure that Elena or anyone was looked and lifted her hoodie a smidge that showed a gun tucked in her trousers and lifted her necklace around her neck to specify that she had vervain in it.
"It's something that I've had forever and, uh, I've never wanted to give it to anyone until now. I'd very much like you to wear it for me, for good luck" Stefan smiled at Elena to which she recropicated which then made Florence turn away and fake gag
"Is that rose I smell?" Elena smelled her necklace
"No it's uh — " Stefan looked at Florence for help, but she just snorted quietly " — It's an herb. It's nice, huh?"
"I love it" Elena says smiling
"And I — uh, wanted to thank you for pushing me to try out the team. It feels really good" Stefan says
"We're a pair, I quit, you start" Elena replies
Why am I here again? Florence thinks
"Right. We're a work in progress. We'll figure it out" Stefan says and leans in for a kiss
"Oh please God no" Florence mutters and turns her eyes away from them and takes her arm off Elena's shoulders as they started to kiss
