Alex had now moved over to the pile of clothes that Amanda had deemed saveable.

"This one could be converted like this..."

"Maybe we could try..."

Alex and Amanda were murmuring to each other in the background, and I was sitting in between Rex and Lionel, who were both looking at the catalog book I held open on my lap.

Rex was staring at the page and frowning, before he spoke up.

"Corvalia, how are you going to pay for these outfits?"

"I have money," I replied.

I received quite a lot of money after selling off my jewelry, and those coins were currently hidden away under my bed in a large sack. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to put them, so I decided that the safest place was in my room.

"How much though?" Rex pressed. "I doubt Lady Catherine has approved for you to use your allowance."

"She hasn't," I agreed. "I sold a few pieces of jewelry that I didn't like. I definitely have enough to cover the costs."

I asked Sir Leonard during one of our lessons how much 2250 silvers was worth, and he told me that I could probably buy three houses with that kind of money, which pretty much shut me right up.

Speaking of which, I still needed to discuss payment with Alex, although that could wait until after everything was finished.

"Lionel, how could you let Corvalia spend her own money?" Rex asked. "You should be buying this stuff for her."

"What!? How can you say that!?" he complained. "She's the one who offered!"

"It's fine!" I interrupted them. "I'll buy all six of you a new outfit, just think of it as a thank you gift, or an apology. Can you two go call the other four over here so their measurements can get taken down?"

Lionel shot out of his seat first, with Rex following quickly behind, and I immediately turned to Alex, asking, "Can we discuss the payment now? I don't want them to hear about that stuff."

"Of course, let me just get my notepad."

It wasn't long before Rex and Lionel returned with the rest of my siblings, who all lined up for Amanda to take their measurements.

"What type of outfit would you like them to get?" Alex asked me.

"For the boys, the same design as Lionel. For Kira, the same design as my dress. It can be like matching sibling outfits!"

Isaac overhead this.

"We'll just grow out of them eventually. Why waste money on it now?"

"If you grow out of it, you can just get a new one tailored. Not that big of a deal," I replied.

Not like this family can't afford it. We are so rich...
