Chapter Thirteen - Test

It's been three weeks since James pushed me into the pool and since then, I've been avoiding him like the plague. I didn't want to see him for the fear that he will do something to me.

Lexi and I are growing more apart. She spends her time with our brothers either playing games or going to the movies together, or she's shopping with Clara going to the spa, salon or having manicures together or she's spending time with dad.

While she's spending time with them, I spend my time baking or cooking with Linda or in my room reading or doing nothing.

Our cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents left after staying with us for two weeks.

Today being Saturday, dad Lexi and I are going to our new school to write a test. Apparently, if you are a new student and want to get into the school, you have to write a certain test. If you pass you get in but if you fail you don't.

After showering – I've already brushed my teeth before eating breakfast –, I went to my closet to pick my outfit. After contemplating for a while, I chose a long sleeve white shirt with high waisted jeans and a pair of white shoes. I ran a brush through my hair before setting it in a high ponytail. I looked at myself in the mirror and went downstairs satisfied with my choice of clothing.

I went downstairs to the living room and sat down on a sofa. I turned on the TV and started watching a movie.

I woke up early today and helped Linda and the maids in making breakfast. The rest of the family were already up when we finished, so I went and sat on my seat and ate my food. I was the first to finish so I went to my room to take a shower.

Now I'm just waiting for dad and Lexi  to get ready so that we can go to the school.

Dad came downstairs speaking to someone on his phone. He was a wearing an expensive suit. I've never seen dad with jeans and shirt only suits. Even my two older brothers wear casual clothes on weekdays but never dad.

Lexi came down wearing similar clothes like mine but her shirt was short sleeve and instead of white shoes she's wearing black and her hair was down.

We went to the garage and got into the car with dad behind the wheel and Lexi in the passenger seat, that left me in the back seat.

"I want you try your best and pass the test ok" dad said to us after hanging up "ok dad" I said to him and he looked at me through the reer mirror and nodded a little. "What about you Lexi, are you going to try and pass the test" "Don't worry dad, I'm going to pass the test and make you proud" Lexi said turning to look at dad in her seat "that's my girl" he–dad–said looking at Lexi with a smile for a split second before looking back at the road again.

He reached out and ruffled her hair making Lexi whine "dad, you're ruining my my hair" she said with a pout on her lips making dad laugh at her.

I looked at them joking around with each other with a sad smile wishing I could have the same relationship that they have.

After some minutes, we arrived at a school with black gates. We went through the black gates and into the school. When you go through the gates the first thing you'll see is the name of the school on top of a pillar. It read LIBERTY MIDDLE SCHOOL.

"Whoa! Is that the school we'll be going to?" Lexi asked with wide eyes as dad parked the car in the parking lot.

"Yes, if you pass you'll be attending this school" dad said coming out of the car with us following. We came out of the car and a short man with balding hair and a big belly wearing a suit came running towards us.
