Ava's pov

"And I want those shattered pieces of glass cleaned before I come back" said Damien in a cold voice.

With that he left the dining room.

Tears clouded my vision and a sob broke out from my body. I quickly wiped my tears and stood up on shaky legs. I looked at my right arm and leg to see some pieces of glass stuck on them and blood was oozing from the pierced skin and dropping to the floor.

The sight of blood made me feel dizzy.

I was wearing a short sleeve T-shirt and shorts. I thought I looked cute but I regret wearing it now.

I saw a maid carrying a broom and a dustpan and I collected it from her she opened her mouth to protest but I quickly shook my head making her close her mouth, and I cleaned the pieces of glass.

I didn't want Damien to come and see her helping me.

All this while the rest of my family were busy eating and joking with each other including Lexi. She looked at me and raised one eyebrow as if to say what happen. I shook my head at her saying she shouldn't worry about it. She mouth 'are you ok' at me and I nod my head. She didn't look satisfied but Daniel distracted her by saying something and she shift her attention to him.

I cleaned the drops of blood and the juice I spilled and went to the kitchen when a maid told me Linda was calling me.

I went to the kitchen and immediately Linda saw me she hugged me. I started crying and she rubbed my back while saying "it's going to be ok" repeatedly.

I stopped crying after a while and just stood in Linda's embrace. She made me sit on the stool and asked another maid to bring her the first aid kit.

When the maid brought it she left and Linda opened it and brought out tweezers. She looked at me in pity and said "this is going to hurt sweety so don't look ok" I nodded and looked away from her and closed my eyes.

I felt something being removed from my skin and I winced in pain. She removed all the glass from my arm and started removing the ones from my leg.

After a while she removed all the glass from both my arm and leg with me peaking from time to time and wincing in pain.

She put some liquid substance in a wool and rubbed it on the places she removed the glass. She put a bandage on the ones that were deeper and put an ointment on the ones that weren't so deep.

"Have you finished eating your food" Linda asked me looking sympathetic. "I'm not hungry" I mumbled standing up from the stool.

"Ok then but take this ice and put it on your cheek it will help the swelling" she said taking out a bag filled with ice from the fridge and giving it to me. I collected the ice, thank her and left the kitchen.

When I went to the dining room I didn't see anyone except dad and Lexi. I didn't want them to see me but dad did and he called me.

I went and sat opposite to Lexi, dad by my left sitting on the head chair and Lexi by his left. I kept the bag of ice on the table and lower my head looking at the table to avoid looking at dad.

When Lexi saw me she gasped out loud "Ava, what happened to you? Are you ok?" she asked worriedly

I smiled internally. Lexi still cares about me.
"I..I'm fine. I just f..fell down" I answered but she didn't look convinced "but what happened to your arm—"

"If she said she's fine then she's fine princess" dad cut in and looked at her sternly and she dropped the subject.

"I called the two of you to tell you good news. The principal of Liberty Middle School called me and you have passed your tests." Dad announced looking at me and then at Lexi. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Lexi shouted practically jumping on her seat.
