There are many paths
that have been worn
down like the soles
of an old pair of shoes.
Paths that have been
cleared out and used
again and again by
followers and leaders alike.
Those paths have
a tendency to repel me
despite their cheeriness
and conformity.
The paths I take
are the ones I make.
They may be filled with
thorns as sharp as knives
but I like to wander
and go on adventures.
I like to live my life
and see the world
as it was never seen
before.
