This cup of tea
will not be as grand
in the eyes of the sea
as it will be to the sand.
That dream will not be
accomplished by someone
who is too blind to see
that it doesn't matter if you never won--
Only that you tried
and never backed down
even when you cried
after all, you did nearly drown.
Not in the water,
but in the words of doubt.
In words that made a sea of rainwater
the same day you cried out.
