Song of chapter: Ice by Kelly Rowland ft Lil Wayne
Alternate songs of chapter: Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice and She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) by David Guetta ft. Sia
I kind of like the cold,
I'm kind of immune to it
from jumping into cold pools
for swim meets,
losing the feeling of my feet.
I wouldn't say I'd rather be cold than hot, no
I'd rather be right in the middle-
warm.
I like the cold because it reminds me of
snow, the beautiful powdery substance
that falls from the sky in intricate flakes,
no snowflake quite the same.
Snow used to build forts and snowballs,
ready to be launched at others in a frenzied fight.
Snow used to form snow angels and icicles
decorating yards in ways artificial decorations
never could.
I like the cold because it reminds me of
certain songs,
like the song of this chapter
or Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice,
even She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)
by David Guetta ft Sia.
The cold also reminds me of
polar bears and penguins,
sea otters and walruses,
narwhals- all types of sea life
living in the cold because they've adapted
to the atmosphere.
The cold is a feeling
something that is hard to describe,
something that brings goose bumps on your arms
and causes the hairs on your neck to stand at attention.
The cold is something that freezes you up,
making you feel numb and causing your face to redden
as you trudge through the icy breeze.
You feel an icy chill and shiver,
a feeling that crawls up your spine
in a slow and commanding manner,
your teeth chattering causing the sound
of clashing teeth.
Alas,
the cold is not just a feeling you get when
the temperature drops.
You can feel cold under someone's relentless stare
you can feel cold when you feel as if you are being watched
or when something bad is about to happen,
your body giving you a premonition.
The main reason for my like of the cold though
is hot chocolate.
I'm being serious.
Hot chocolate is bomb.
Especially Land O' Lakes.
Try their Arctic White Hot Chocolate.
I'm done.
