Chapter 9

"What did you say" he asked with a deeper voice this time,

Then it occurred to me that his royal highness Sultan just asked me a question twice

"N-Nothing" i said stammering

I didn't even know but i felt burning eyes starring at me,

I raised my head and immediately put it back down shivering as if the weather was cold,

He won't say anything i know and he is waiting for me to tell him what i meant by my statement but i was doomed because I don't have any explanation of what i said,

"I-I'm sorry i wasn't talking to you" I managed to say very quietly biting my lower lip and I'm very sure its bleeding because of the metallic taste in my mouth,

"Do you know who i am?" He asked looking down at me and i nodded

"Words!!" He snapped and I jumped out of my skin a little before i said "yes" loudly as if i was about to be eaten by a tiger

"Clearly you don't little girl because if you do you wouldn't have opened your mouth to blab such rubbish to my face" he said hitting the table making the plates shatter on the ground

"Who do you think you are?"  "Huh" he asked again and i look down tears already streaming down my face

"I know neither deaf nor dumb" he snapped

"I-i-im nobody" I managed to say and I heard his tongue click

"That's what I taught" he said standing face to face with me

"And because you are a nobody, i can decide to make you disappear and no one will give a damn"

I was just crying because I've never seen him this angry and honestly its scary

"You are the dumbest maid I've ever had and you've never done anything right for once"

"Dan Allah kayi hakuri" I managed to say sobbing because he was so mad and I know anything can happen

"Hakuri koh" he said with a gentle voice and i just nodded fearfully

"Look at me" he said and I looked down again but i can feel his eyes starring at me so I gently raised my head but I couldn't look directly into his eyes

"Repeat what you said to me few minutes ago" he said and I looked down again

"Dan Allah kayi hakuri" i said

"No, what you said earlier" he repeated and I couldn't help but think,

Then it occurred to me that he wanted me to repeat the statement which wasn't even an insult

I immediately knelt down crying my eyes out begging him to forgive me but he picked a chair and sat down waiting for me to repeat what I said,

The place was now quiet and the only sound you will hear is the sound of my sobs, none of us said a word and i just knelt there crying,

"Say the word or leave the palace forever" he said bringing me back to reality

"I don't have all day so you either say it within the time I'm giving you or get ready to live on the streets of Zaria" he said heartlessly

"Click" i heard a sound from his phone which he gently placed on the table and crossed his legs

"Your time starts now" he warned and new set of hot tears started rolling down my face

"Click......click....click" i heard the sound of a ticking clock and I started thinking,

I don't have anywhere to go to because I'm not from here, I don't have a penny to go back to jigawa and the worst he could do is to kill me and thats it,
