Prologue
Annie Chapman, 43, had known her friend was dead.
She had seen everything in her life.
"Why are you working on the street?", asked Mary Kelly, 19.
"Because I need the money. Nothin' will 'appen ter me". Annie Chapman answered. Her brown, wavy hair gleamed in the moonlight; her blue eyes focused on the East End street.
"Hell, my ex husband John knows I am at death's door. An' the kids are well looked after. Yet I know wot everyone's thinkin'...That I made this choice. So...I know that London is in trouble...There's no future, so we'll make sure that we're all safe", Anne Chapman said, as they went to work in the violent cobbled roads of London Town.
