He wore a white flannel shirt, the fluid fabric glided against his chest. His tall, lean figure stood by the window.

“Levi!” Ali ran up to him. Her arms circled around his waist, hugging him tightly from behind. She can feel his muscular abdominals. He was taller than her. Every time when she was against him she felt very safe. Touching him is her reserved right.

A few girls passed by them; their envious eyes stared at her.

His hand grabbed hers.

“We need to talk.” He said.

The seriousness in his tone scared her a little.

She followed him out, her hand still in his. Only when they walk out did she realize the sky was showering a mist of water?

The walk was silence, but her heart was throbbing violently. It took them a few minutes to reach the grass field by the park. Only a few people are still wandering around.

She didn’t even know how long the walk was. Did she even want it to end? She just know she hates the feelings that she have right now, the feeling of insecurity.

Dark clouds are slowly gathering above them.

“Why don’t we talk about it later, it is raining now?” She doesn’t know what she is trying to escape, but she let go of his hand and walked away. Then, abruptly he grabbed her wrist and stopped her movement.

“Lets break up.” He said, there wasn’t much heave in his voice.

Boom! The sound of thunder came right after his words.

The lighting made their appearance have fifty different shades, so ominous.

“What…” her voice quiet, disbelief, but more despondency, and her eyes widened.

She stood there. Didn’t know the water gliding down her face is the rain of her tears. He stood in front her.

She didn’t know how long did the silence last, but she heard herself saying.

“….” When she opened her mouth, she realized her voice was coarse. She barely had enough courage to ask him why. Maybe it is because she already knows the answer, but she still forced herself to say it. “Ever since we had been together, have you ever cared about me?”

“No.” He looked at her only for a split second, like it already disgust him to even look at her.

Her eyes are losing focus.

“What about all the time we spend together?” Her words were spiritless. The crying barely made her word coherent.

“They’re only for fun. Don’t take it too seriously.” His eyes were cold.

With every word he said, her heart sung farther. In the end, even breathing hurts.

She stepped back, looking at him with fearful eyes. Why? It’s only been one day. How come he already looked like a stranger?

…..

“I never liked you. Do you know you always annoys me when you get so close, when you follow me around. At first it was fun, but then it was nothing more than a burden. This necklace you gave me.” He lifted the silvery chains up. “It’s hideous.” He tore it off of him and threw it on the ground.

His words were like knife piercing through her. Tears run down her face, she stared at the necklace, her face soaked by the rain. The necklace on the ground was covered by mud. She scrambled to the ground and picked it up, holding it between her fingers. Then, through the corner of her eye, through the foggy rain, she saw his shoes lifted from the ground and his back vanished under the rain in the dark. She looked at the necklace. What does it means if he was gone? She stood up, holding the necklace tightly in her hand. Then she closed her eye, another drop of tears fell down, and she threw the necklace back on the floor and walked away.

After she walked away, a pair of hands lifted the necklace off the ground. By the old mud on his shoes, it shows that he stood in the rain moments ago too.

After she walked away, she didn’t walk far. She leaned herself against a brick wall. Slowly letting her feeble body glided off the wall until she hid the muddy floor. She pulled her knees up, bend her head down, and hugged her self. Tears never ceased to came out of her eyes. Now, she is alone, so she can cry as loudly as she can.

Not far away, a figure stood in the rain, watching her.
