Part 5. EARLY MORNING TREKKING

In the morning I got up to someone calling my name from outside. "Caro! Get up you will be late and punished."

I opened my eyes, blinked it a few times, then yawned and got out of the bed.

I opened my tent and saw a chirpy Ollie standing outside all dressed up for trekking.

I asked him yawning "Are we going on a trek?"

He nodded and said "You have five minutes to be ready, sorry I forgot to inform you last night. If we are late, we will be punished."

I hit him on his head and said "How can you forget something so important. Wait outside only, be back in few minutes."

He nodded and I came to my room. I changed my clothes. I wore a joggers shorts and a sports bra, on it I wore a jacket and took my bag pack and a water bottle. I tied my hair in a bun and came out.

I gave my bag and bottle to Ollie and said "I will brush my teeth and use washroom, you close the tent and bring water in my bottle in that time."

He nodded and followed my order. When I was going inside washroom, I saw Noah. He waved at me, I just nodded and hurried in.

After few minutes I was out and saw Ollie waiting. He looked at me and said "That was fast!"

He took my hand and we both ran towards the office where we were supposed to meet. While running he said "I feel like we are eloping, running like this hand in hand."

I laughed at it and said "Maybe that's a good idea, let's elope?"

He just rolled his eye and we reached just in time. Both of us and Mr. Lee entered at the same time, so no punishment today.

Mr. Lee said "Last night who started the food fight?" No one said anything and just kept on looking here and there.

Allen was the first one to say something, he replied "Mr. Lee no one is sure who did it, I promise to find the person soon. I think we should give them first warning today, so that they don't do it again."

Mr. Lee agreed with him and said "Okay! I am excusing you just this time, next time cause trouble and all of you will be punished. Anyways now everyone will be going trekking, Allen has decided the groups and you will follow his orders. Understood?"

We all said at the same time "Yes sir!"

Allen came in front and said "I have formed four groups, I will give each of you the wrist band of four different color. That will be your group for the whole month. The leaders of the group are decided by Mr. Lee I will call the leader and give you the list of your group members. Leader are supposed to take care of their group and not let any group member get hurt. Team leaders you know the trekking route, as soon as your group is ready you will leave for trekking. Everyone from group is supposed to stay together. Understood? Any questions?"

When no one said anything Allen continued

"Group Red leader is Noah Jones.
Group Blue leader is Avery Thomas.
Group Green leader is Nick Ross.
Group Yellow leader is Amelia White."

He gave the leader their groups wrist bands and list. I was waiting for my leader to call my name.

Oliver was in Noah's group, so I wanted to be in his group too. When Noah came and gave me my band, I was for the first time so happy on receiving something from him.

Our other members were Allen, Louis, Sophia, Matt, Luna, Nora and Grace. 10 people in one group.

I was happy with my group, Nick came towards my group and said to Allen "I am camp partnered with Caroline, so I guess she should have been in my group."

Allen said "I had a talk with Mr. Lee last night and now you are no longer her partner. I told Mr. Lee that it would be better to partner her up with Oliver as they are getting along well and Oliver had volunteered before you so he should get a fair chance too. And Mr. Lee should stop being partial when it comes to you."

Wow! This guy is hot even when he is trying to control his anger.

Nick said "Oh! The caring elder brother, who never stands up for himself but his brother is back. Who has always given up everything for his brother's happiness. Do whatever you want to do with your brother but never interfere in my business after this."

I was shocked, so Allen is Oliver's brother, I did not know their story so I won't judge them.

I said before any of them could say anything more "I am not your business Nick better mind your words before talking and I would have requested to be in Oliver's group if I was not with him. I told you last night too that he is my friend, which you are not yet. So better mind your words before talking about my friend."

"Oh! The cute little Ollie the Polly has another bodyguard apart from his brother. When will little Ollie learn to stand up for himself? When will he stop causing trouble to his brother?" Nick said.

I was beyond pissed at Nick, thank god I did not trust him. I turned towards my group and said "Let's go trekking, why waste time on someone like him."

They nodded and ignored Nick who was still standing there looking at us angrily.

We started moving our way, Noah came towards me and said "That was cool, I never knew I had a fiery sister."

I rolled my eyes and said "You don't know anything about me, so stop pretending to be my brother."

I walked away from him, towards Oliver. I did not miss Noah's sad face, but I can't help it.

Whenever he say the sister word, it makes me angry. Why did he never tried to convince our parents to get me back?

Why now all of a sudden he wants to play the brother card.

I slapped Ollie's head from behind and he turned towards me and said "Ouch! That hurts."

I just laughed and said "Why did you not say something to Nick when he was talking shit about you. Learn to stand up for yourself, your brother or me won't be always around."

He said "Thanks for earlier, but don't mess with him. He is kind of dangerous and may hurt you."

I shook my head and said "As if, he better know that messing with me is like playing with fire. Anyways why did you not tell me Allen was your brother."

He shrugged "It never came to my mind, most people here know he is my brother and I forgot you were new here. With you it feels like I have know you for years."

I hi-five him and said "Ditto."

He laughed and we were now at the last, as our speed was slow and we were kind of tired too.

But we continued our talking while trekking, which was making us more tired.

I asked out of the blue "Ollie you said you were not here last year. What happened? If you don't mind telling?"

He said "Last day of school, few boys found out I was gay, they bullied me and hit me. They even cut me and burned me with cigarettes butts. I was hospitalized and hence my parents did not allow me to come here."

I hugged him and said "I wish I could meet those boys and kick their asses, anyways I am happy I have a friend like you and won't ever judge you for being gay."

He thanked me and then asked "When you are so sweet with me, why do you act so tough around Noah? I have know Noah for last four years now and he is a great boy, who is just like my brother Allen helpful."

I rolled my eyes and said "No you have it all wrong, Noah and your brother are not same. He is nothing like Allen, Allen has always stood up for you but Noah never stood up for me. He was not there when I needed my elder brother the most. I hate him, I hate my parents. I wish to be far away from them."

I now had tears in my eyes and Ollie just hugged me and kept whispering "Hey! It's okay! Everything will be fine soon."

I looked behind from Ollie's shoulder and saw Noah with tears in his eyes and Allen standing beside him.
