you could see from the look on your best friends face that the news you were about to be told wasn't going to be anything good.

"what's happened?" you sigh as your best friend joins your side

"so i don't want to panic but people are starting to gossip about how Draco has a new girlfriend" y/b/f says

"what?" you ask utterly confused by this information

"he was seen today with some girl in Hogsmeade, shopping for jewellery.."

you could have sworn your heart dropped just completely down, you couldn't find the words either to respond which y/b/f noticed, sending you a sympathetic look

"look it could be nothing y/n" y/b/f tried but you just scoffed in response

"yeah right" you mutter fighting back the tears that were threatening to spill over your eyelids

"just talk to him before making any decisions, sooner rather than later too so it doesn't eat you up alive"

you nod in response "yeah okay"

"good, you coming to next lesson?" y/b/f asked

"no i just want to be alone right now" you reply making y/b/f pull you into a tight hug

"he loves you y/n even i can see that just talk to him about it" y/b/f says sending you a small smile to which you returned before she left you alone in your bedroom

the blonde grinned at his best friend, pulling the small box from his pocket "of course i did"

"so when are you gonna give it to her?" Blaise asked

Draco just shrugged in response "when the time is right"

y/b/f and Pansy suddenly sat down opposite the boys, chatting about whatever lesson they had last making Draco's eyebrows furrow in confusion

"where's y/n?" Draco asked finding his girlfriend's sudden absence strange

"she wasn't feeling well" y/b/f shrugged

"what? she was fine this morning" Draco said his confusion deepening

"well things change" y/b/f said somewhat bitterly before continuing to talk to Pansy

"okay.. what was that about?" Blaise asked quietly

"what's the supposed to mean?" Draco asked ignoring Blaise

"i take it you haven't heard the rumours them?" Pansy responded making Draco send her a look telling her to get to the point

"people think you're cheating on y/n with a new girlfriend" y/b/f told him plainly making the blonde's eyes widen

"what? why would anything think that"

"people saw you today! shopping with some other girl!" y/b/f snapped "i mean what the hell Draco!!"
