Layla's POV

I was currently out of the mansion cause it's been days since I had taken a stroll of the streets.

I sat on the side of the road on the underpass as I let the silence take me in. It's peaceful out here.

Whenever I had too much of my father I used to come here to give myself a break and it always worked. It was like my own personal secret spot which no one knew of.

Giving yourself a break from life always works the best.

A sigh escaped from between my lips as I stared down on the road. My legs apart as I thought about my life back at the place I once used to call home.

Aside from my father, my mother was always there for me. Whenever things got too hard I always went to her and she would always console me telling me it's all going to be fine and that I'll survive from it. She knew how much my father pressurized me into perfection thinking I'm some kind of a robot of his. Well, that's exactly how he treated us never giving a shit about our emotions.

He said that he always wanted a son but got a daughter instead. He argued that men are much stronger than women who are only to fuck with. Yes, that's the kind of a man my father is. Never left a single chance not to disrespect women when one herself birthed him in this world.

Hearing him telling me just how much he regretted conceiving me and not getting rid of me when he got to know that I was a girl always got to me. It hurt every single time but slowly I got used to hearing those words when all that was left of it was anger.

It angered me how he had no respect for women and how easily he insulted us and degraded us. I wanted to show him that I could be better. That I can do what he expects only men could. And for that, I was ready to give in to the pressure and train as he wanted me to.

But soon it all got so hard when he almost shot me while drunk that my mother decided it was enough and told me to run far away. The events of that night are still clear in my head as my mother's words rang in my ear telling me to never come back to this hell of a house. But I left with a promise I made to her that soon I'll come back to take her with me.

The ringing of my phone took me out of my thoughts as I noticed it buzzing.

There were almost 5 missed calls and 3 text messages from... Sinn?

I opened the text messages and it read,
'I was expecting you to show up.'
'Didn't I tell you, I don't wait for anyone?'

And the last one radiated even more rage in it, 'why the fuck aren't you answering your phone?'

I couldn't help but scoff as I skimmed through his texts. He was pissed and I enjoyed pissing people off, I can't help it.

The Sinn Phoenix who gives everyone a cold shoulder is mad. It's going to be interesting. I got up from the sidewalk as I brushed off the dust from my jeans and walked out of the underpass. Let's just ignore him for a bit more.

Talking of him, after he bandaged my wrist I couldn't help but think about his actions and the words he said to me yesterday. He seemed human for the first time and we had a decent conversation with each other even though it was kinda depressing?

I was a bit far from the underpass and when I was about to take a turn a black Ferrari stopped right in front of me making me halt in my steps. My heart thudded from this near-death experience cause I would've been hit by the damn car.

I turned towards the driver's seat which was tinted so I couldn't see who was the driver but that didn't stop my outburst.

"The fuck dude? I almost died! Why're you even driving in the first place-" I got cut off when I saw the window of the driver's seat scroll down and came in view the very dashing, Sinn Phoenix.

"Get in." He stated simply but his tone gave out how pissed he was. I was caught a bit off guarded by him and I couldn't talk for a second before I got myself together. "I'm not." I retorted putting my hands in the pocket of my jacket and looking at him confidently.

He glared my way with his piercing silver eyes which told me if I didn't obey him he could very much kill me right on the spot.

"I don't like repeating myself."
"Neither do I," I replied to him not giving into him. Does he think he can order me around like I'm some stupid worker of his? He might be my trainer and the leader of our unit but that doesn't mean I'll listen to his every command.

He tapped his thumb over the steering wheel and I noticed how he clenched his jaw. "You leave me no choice then Rebel," he announced before he opened the door and got out of the car. I observed him before I realized what he was trying to do. I took retreating steps as I made up my mind to run from him and my legs cooperated making me stride away from him but before I could go farther away, he had already caught me by my waist.

I grunted as I tried to elbow him but he caught it and now, I couldn't feel my legs touching the ground anymore. I mean who am I even trying to fight anyway?

He started walking towards the passenger seat and I wiggled my legs so he would put me down. "Let me go!" I exclaimed as I tried to get out of his grip but it didn't have an effect on him as he continued with a straight face.

He opened the door and I noticed that it was the driver's seat. Before I had any time to process the situation he got down, with one hand on top of my head so that I won't hit it on the entrance of the car, he slid me over to the passenger seat before taking the driver's seat and shut the door locking it.

I turned to face him, straightening up and removed the hair from my face before he suddenly leaned towards me, making my breath hitch in my throat as I felt his strong cologne hit my nostrils. I stared at his earings and the chain which was hanging from his neck, as he raised his arm and buckled up my seatbelt without uttering a word.

I noticed his biceps which showed off from his tight black high neck. I leaned back on my seat because of him being so close to me that my lips could almost touch his cheeks and peck them. I gulped as my thoughts went to it and I internally slapped myself when I saw Sinn gazing at me sideways, his hair falling on his eyes making him look even hotter.

He went back to his seat, his scent lingering in the air I breathe in, making me miss the warmth of his body around me. What the fuck's wrong with me?

I got out of my trance when I heard the sound of the engine reviving, pulling me out of my thoughts as I frowned, trying to pull on the handle and open the door. "It's not going to work." I heard his voice from behind me. I turned my head to meet his and saw him looking at me with a bored look now, "I turned on the child lock."

I gazed at him in disbelief as he uttered those words, "You what?"
"Stop talking you're annoying." He shut me up and I couldn't help but narrow my eyes at him.

"If I'm annoying, why don't you let me out of this car?" I questioned him this time calmly as I folded my arms. His earing shined through the ray of sunshine that hit it. He pushed his hair back but kept staring in front.

"Cause you're training under me and I don't tolerate people bunking." He glanced at me. "I wasn't bunking," I told him truthfully while he kept his gaze on me.

"I don't give a fuck what you were doing. When I told you we'll train that means I want you to be in the training room. No excuse whatsoever." His face was once again in its business form that he probably uses when he's on a mission of the mafia. And I don't want him to be this serious with me cause the slight fire I saw in those grey eyes, even though it was just for a moment,  was much better than these emotionless cold eyes.

"Then let me be clear about something as well, I'll do whatever I want. You don't own me," I said and this time I saw amusement on his features. He might be the Lucifer of The Three Devils but that doesn't mean I'll kiss the very floor he walks on.

I saw a slight smirk form on his lips as he tilted his head sideways staring at me, "Sorry to break it to you, but till you're working under me you'll have to follow my every command, Rebel."
