CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

I'm reading a book in my room. I'm waiting for Adelaide to reply on my last message to her, after the hunting event, his highness seem more calm than usual. The emperor didn't do anything about that after he heard it since his highness volunteered to fix it by himself since he created that mess in the first place.

As they say, prince not to constantly injure his subjects, because this will make him hated. Instead, he must be cruel only when necessary to avoid greater wrongs.

"My lady, it's time for your breakfast." Veronica said

I stood up and went to the dining area, I sat down there.

"You didn't greet us, is there something wrong?" The duke ask

"No, there's nothing wrong." I replied

"You didn't do anything wrong that day, Eloise," my brother said

"I know. I'm just not feeling well right now."

"Anyway, Eloise, I hired a new maid for you." The duke said

"New maid? Why? I still have Veronica."

"I know, but you still need a new maid."

"Why?"

"You still don't have any personal bodyguard."

"So?"

"The maid I hired is like a warrior. She can fight back if someone tries to attacked you."

"A'right."

"Well, that was fast."

"You already hired her so there's no need for me to say something. After all, you're the duke in this house."

I ate my food. I feel lifeless recently, this world....it's odd. All of it, all of it are strange. I know I'm inside the novel but....after a month, until now, I still haven't meet the protagonist.

She has a angelic face, people call her saint, she was adored and loved by most people, she has the potential to be a ruler in this empire, she has it all

"Eloise? You look sick."

"I'm fine. I should go now," I said

I went back to my room and change my clothes, I grabbed my stuff and went outside. As usual, Augustus is there waiting for me and we started the practice as soon as I got there

"I heard about the hunting event, m'lady."

"Yeah, it's quite a mess."

"I don't think it's your fault, m'lady."

"I got attacked out of nowhere and I received a lot of criticism during that day, of course it's not my fault, Augustus." I smiled at him

He stared at me, "Your purple eyes suits you well, m'lady."

"You're a sweet talker, you know that?" I said, "Augustus, I have a question for you, do you know someone named Thalia?"

"Pardon?"

I look away, "Nevermind, it's not important anyway, just forget it."

After our lesson I went back in my room and change my clothes. This is tiring

"My lady, you look pale." Veronica said

"I'm fine, Veronica, I'm just tired." After I said that I suddenly feel pain in my chest. 

"Lady Eloise are you alright?" She went towards me, she touched my head, "Oh God, my lady, you're burning!"

I suddenly throw up blood, dang it, what's happening?

"Someone, help!" Veronica shouts, my vision is getting blurry. Crap, not yet! 

 I saw the duke coming into my room with a lots of servants. They're saying something but I can't clearly hear it. The next thing I knew, I'm now unconscious
