Knock knock
It was midnight and Amity was at the Owl House, she couldn't sleep
Eda opened the door "Oh, hey boots. Here to sew Luz I assume?"
Amity nodded "Is she asleep already?"
"Not sure, but feel free to check"
Amity needed no further instruction, she practically ran past Eda up to Luz's room
Knock knock
No answer
Amity knocked again "Luz?"
No answer
Amity decided against her better judgement to open the door
It was unlocked
Luz was curled up on the floor, soft sobs could be heard
"Luz!" Amity ran up to her
Luz looked up to see her girlfriend next to her
"A- Amity?"
"What's wrong Luz?"
Luz sniffled, trying to dry up her tears
"I- It's nothing, really. Just had a long day.."
"Luz please, don't lie to me. What happened? Did the portal not work?"
Amity began to internally panic. Did she mess up? Was there not enough Titan's Blood? Could Luz not get home?
Luz hugged Amity to pull her out of her thoughts, she was crying again
"N- No Amity, it worked. At least it kinda did
It's just.."
Luz inhaled sharply
"Promise me when you get back you'll stay here! It'll be different I swear!"
"..okay mama, I promise.."
.......
Luz finished explaining everything to Amity, including the promise to her mom. She was trying not to completely fall apart
"S- So when I make a working portal.. I won't be able to come back.. to Eda and King, to Willow and Gus, to you..."
That did it
Luz buried her head in her girlfriend's shoulder and let lose all her tears
Amity held her close, she was being surprisingly calm about the whole thing. Sure the thought of never seeing Luz again was terrifying, but she needed a strong shoulder to cry on (in this case literally) and Amity was going to be that for her
"Hey, it'll be okay
We'll figure it out"
Amity stroked the human's hair, hoping to calm her
"I- I don't wanna leave.." Luz choked out "I love it here, I love everyone I've met here, but.."
"Luz.."
Amity held Luz by the chin to look her in the eye
"You are one of the strongest people I know, if anyone can figure this out, it's you
And I'll be here with you every step of the way, okay?"
Luz gave a smile, Amity's words definitely helping
"Thanks Amity.."
Luz hugged the lavender haired girl close. Amity smiled, she was scared too but didn't want it to show
She needed to be strong
For Luz
For the both of them
"Can you stay with me tonight Amity?"
"Of course"
Amity kissed the human on the cheek before the two layed down, still in each other's arms
......
