Chapter 2

I woke up in a gray T-shirt and sweats strapped down to the cold metal table, like so many times before.

"Not this dream again." I grumble. "I hate this one."

"Sorry my dear, but this is no dream." Some British guy said out of view.

"What?" I tried to look for him. "If this isn't a dream then why-" and then it hit me. "It finally happened. I've gone crazy and I am now in a mental hospital. My hands weren't going through my car. I was losing my mind! I drove into that wall." I said more to myself than anything.

The table began to move, and I was now 'standing'.

"I'm sorry dear, but your wrong once again." It was the Mocking Bird guy! Only now he was dressed as a doctor, maybe a scientist. Also, he had a third eye in the middle of his forehead.

"Nathan?!" Crap.... I've been kidnapped. If I ever get out of here, I am never letting anyone check out a book after closing. Or trusting another guy in a man-bun! "Listen man, if this is because something was wrong with the book. The book was damaged because someone else turned it in that way. I'm sure you will do great on that book report anyway! And if you let me go, I can help you. We can keep this little kidnapping thing between us. I won't tell anyone." I bargained.

"Yeah, about that, I lied. It's just, when our location system found an exact replica of Lillian Champ, I had to see it for myself. I apologize for the dishonesty. No more lies, I give you my word." Not Nathan explained.

I get it now. I'm not the crazy one. He is! I should have listened to my father when he warned me about the hippies.

I nervously laughed. Who knows what can set this psycho off. "Right, right. Um... I just have a few questions. What do- what do I call you? W-where am I? And why-why exactly do you need me? If you don't mind answering them of course." I stuttered.

"Right! Now where are my manners. I am Dr. Nathaniel Brooke, a scientist on the ship 0719-Hub. The 0719-Hub is the spaceship you are currently on. What I need you for is to pretend and replace Lillian Champ, the poster woman of Universal Peace and Exploration!" Nathaniel said.

Dear lord, please safe me. This crazy person truly believes everything he just said. I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I swear to you I will be better. I'll even volunteer at soup kitchens or something.

"Ok. Ok sure. Okie dokie. When do I start?" I try to play along but... nerves. My stomach is in knots and honestly, I'm just trying not to vomit.

"Wonderful! To be honest, I was expecting some sort of resistance, but this is wonderfully unexpected." he smiled as he released me from my restraints.

"I'm nothing if not a team player." I carefully step off and rub my aching wrist.

Looking around the room, it's the exact same lab from my dreams but the door needs some kind of key card. And of course, Dr. Crazy has it clipped to his coat pocket.

"So," Deep breath Angela. Calm down. "Dr. Brooke, when do we get started?" Getting as close as I could without raising suspicion. Before he could speak, I kicked him as hard as I could in the balls and snatched the keycard when he fell to his knees in pain.

Everything was the same as my nightmares. Metal doors and the endless hallway. Even when Nathaniel called after me but, if I had learned anything from my nightmares it's that you don't stop running.

I finally came across a T-way hallway, only this time I made a hard right. This time is going to be different; I am going to get away. The alarms started to go off and red lights flashed.

Using the key card, the door opened to what looked like a lounge, maybe a breakroom. But the room isn't what stopped me from running. What stopped me was the window wall. It showed this place getting further and further away from planet Earth.

"Oh fuck."
